Venezuela: $24.7 million reward for Nicolas Maduro

27.03.20.  The world has watched as Venezuela slid down the gurgler under the corrupt President Nicolas Maduro. The conditions under which he pushed his people should attract crimes against humanity. The US has finally stepped in and if for no other good than to stop the human suffering the sizable reward should prompt many entrepreneurs to get cracking. A worrying future for Maduro!
The US has charged Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, and other senior officials in the country with drug trafficking crimes. The move, which will increase tensions between the two nations, was announced by Attorney General William Barr. But that move has offered a US$15m reward for the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro.

Nicolás Maduro: US charges Venezuelan president with drug crimes

The US has long accused Maduro of leading a corrupt and brutal regime, a charge he has repeatedly rejected.
Washington backs opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who last year declared himself interim president.
The new charges represent an escalation in the longstanding US pressure campaign on Mr Maduro, which has also included sweeping sanctions on Venezuela’s oil industry.
As well as Mr Maduro, the US indictment charged more than a dozen top Venezuelan officials including the country’s chief justice and its defence minister.
“The Venezuelan people deserve a transparent, responsible, representative government that serves the needs of the people – and that does not…. engage in illicit narcotics trafficking,” the US state department said.
“These individuals violated the public trust by facilitating shipments of narcotics from Venezuela, including control over planes that leave from a Venezuelan air base,” it added.
The US – as well as dozens of other countries – recognise opposition leader Juan Guaidó as president
At a news conference announcing the indictment on Thursday, Mr Barr accused Mr Maduro of working with the Colombian Farc rebel group “to flood the United States with cocaine.”
“While the Venezuelan people suffer, this cabal… lines their pockets,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, Mr Maduro accused the US and Colombia of conspiring against Venezuelua and causing the violence within the country.
What’s the background to the Venezuela crisis?
Mr Maduro narrowly won a presidential election in April 2013 after the death of his mentor, President Hugo Chávez.
He was elected to a second term in May 2018 in an election seen as flawed by international observers.
Venezuela has experienced economic collapse – inflation was 800,000% last year – and 4.8m people have left the country.
Mr Guaidó has accused President Maduro of being unfit for office. He has won the support of many in the country as well as US and EU leaders.
But Mr Maduro has remained in power and is backed by Russia, China and Cuba.

I’m sure an errant missile strike on the midnight planes over international waters would stop the drug shipments by air. Wouldn’t be hard to hide one of those. Save a lot of administrative paperwork.

Anybody, even at a local level, that deals in narcotics should be eradicated permanently.
Drug use causes much more anguish in the community than most people realise.

If it were not for the fact Venezuela sits on the largest oil reserves in the world, the USA and other nations would have little interest.

Blockades, frozen bank accounts and the CIA have more to do with the collapse of the Venezuelan economy than their government under siege.

The only reason Venezuela has not been forcibly invaded is the presence of the Russians. There is much to the story of Venezuela, most of which is not going to see the light of day in the main stream media, the fact of the ‘preferred’ person for President of Venezuela is Juan Guaidó who is hard at work destabilizing the nation whilst being involved in the theft of millions upon millions of aid monies. The only reason the Yanks want Guaidó as President, is because they can manipulate him to rip the nation’s oil wealth off.

A bit of research will find the story, and what a story it is, a story which would be the making of a blockbuster movie of international intrigue, scull-duggery and all those elements which are hard to believe could happen in reality.

Venezuela has, apparently, shifted a small mountain of gold to a safe haven as a future Maduro retirement fund. He’ll do a midnight flit soon but he’ll never be completely safe from the long arm of USA Law! He’s already learned to speak Russian.
