Trump and fat Latinos.

Trump and fat Latinos.

When stress hits me where it hurts, I have a remedy – a Valium sandwich, a fresh bottle of old Kickapoo Joy juice, and the latest edition of the Annals of Behavioural Medicine. Within minutes attention slides off me like a kid’s ice cream down a slippery dip. The eyes glaze, cross and uncross, eyes dim and the chin nod,s as I struggle with the thickets of impenetrable prose and the Alice in Wonderland studies.

Yes, a “new study” has hit the glossy pages of the Annals that puts forth the conclusion that illegal aliens who fear being deported are suffering from high stress, which creates health risks. And those health risks frequently end in heart attacks. I don’t doubt that in the least, I’d be like that myself. But they blame it on Trump!

The study purports that “Latinos report high levels of concern about deportation for themselves or others. No previous research has tested the link between worry about deportation and clinical measures of cardiovascular risk.”

I daresay that if you compared their ticker with Barnaby Joyce’s, or any crim on the run, the results would be similar and in those cases Trump would not be a factor. I ask, did reading about Trump influence whether Barnaby would jump the fences?

“In a 2010 national survey, 46% of U.S.-born and foreign-born Latinos reported that they worried about the deportation of themselves, a family member, or close friend,” the study continued. “The results of a similar survey fielded between December 2016 and January 2017 suggest a persistently high prevalence of deportation worry—47% of both U.S.-born and foreign-born Latinos reported deportation worry, ranging from a third of U.S.-born Latinos to two-thirds of foreign-born Latinos who are not U.S. citizens.”

Gosh! True? Why you can just FEEL my lack of caring here.

This study looked at 545 Latina women (skewed much?), who just happen to be lettuce pickers in the Salinas Valley. It found that those who expressed “a lot of worry” about deportation had a higher Body Mass Index and a greater waist circumference. Fair dinkum? It’s Trump’s fault that Latinas are fat? Every fat man or woman are hiding a deep concern about what Donald will do? Couldn’t it more likely indicate also that they live in a land of plenty and aren’t starving to death?

“These findings should be viewed in light of policy efforts that may either exacerbate or alleviate the burden of worry about deportation among immigrants and their family members. Policies that mitigate worry about deportation might have potentially beneficial consequences for the cardiovascular risk profiles of individuals who are themselves undocumented or have undocumented family and community members. In contrast, policies that lead to increased worry about deportation may have adverse downstream impacts on cardiovascular risk.”

They left out the stiff neck from looking around all the time for immigration authorities.

Some of these workers are treated like slave labor in the US. They are coveted for cheap labor and their tendency to vote for Commos. Instead of blaming corrupt businesses for taking these people out of poverty in Mexico and placing into nervous servitude in the US, the shrinks go after Trump. Trump who wants to send them back to where they came from just because they are breaking the law.

And he didn’t make the law.

Trump walked out on the water past the surf break to save a drowning man a couple of years ago and the NYP headline read “Trump can’t swim!”

Incredible how, once again, the media turns the criminal (illegal immigrants) into the victim.

Same here TG! Except our police, judicial and legal systems aid and abet!

It seems to me that the terms refugee and illegal immigrant are now interchangeable.
One used to be a term that elicited pity and help, the other to be reviled….. Oh how times change.
Or is it as I’m often informed, language evolving?

Wait for it guys – this story should hit “refugees” in detention any minute now. Now they can blame Turnbull for their stress, “mental illness” and “suicidal tendencies” plus anything else.

So can half the population of Oz, Greg.

There’s no end of spic activists and immigration lawyers (some of whom are illegals who have studied law in the US and been admitted to the bar – how does all that happen?). Tucker Carlson argues with at least one of them per day (Blogs records Fox programs and skips the crap). Of course they all have a right to this and a right to that, blah, blah, blah. Their hubris is something to behold – for about two seconds.

What’s to stress about if you are legal?

Every day at the News. Com website, there are several idiotic anti Trump articles. They are laughable however they continue to be put up as the real deal.

news.com has articles on Trump? I thought all their articles were on actors and that ilky industry. Kind of hard to find real news on their site.
