Sweden and its own Section 18c – and its rape statistics.

SwedenSweden’s own 18c
Exclusive
Bret Harte

During Neville Wran’s term as Premier of NSW he introduced and strongly promoted the concept of multiculturalism. He regarded it as one of his signature achievements.

Multiculturalism was the “in” thing at the time. All over the western world. It was conspicuously absent in Japan and Russia and India and China. It could very properly be called ‘The Western Sickness’.

Sweden, always abreast of the very latest lefty fads, joined the chorus and in 1975 the Swedish parliament unanimously decided that being Swedish was old hat – it was time to change the homogenous make up of Sweden and make it a multicultural country with tolerance and diversity and equality … or something.

Looking back to 1975 from the perspective of 2015; the unintended (but not completely unexpected) consequences are to be seen in Sweden’s rape stats.

The Swedish population has increased roughly 19% – violent crime has increased 300%.

One interesting feature of this increase in violent crime is in the number of rapes – from 421 in 1975 to 5,887 in 2014 rapes reported to the Swedish police – roughly 1000% up. Population up 16%; rapes up 1000%.

According to the UN, Sweden is now #1 internationally in police-recorded rape offences by a long way. Sweden first, daylight second, the rest also ran. Sweden is the Phar Lap, the Bradman, the Babe Ruth in the rape listings.

Sweden

Rape rate per 100,000 population, comparison by country (selected top and bottom countries), 2012 statistics taken from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

It is fair to say that statistics don’t tell the whole story. Sweden redefined ‘rape’ into a general sort of claim that included leering and pointing at genitals and so on; and politicians explain the titanically explosive increase on the redefinition.

Others however, explain that the re-definition itself was an attempt to conceal the violent crime traditionally known as rape. After all, violent crime had gone up 300% why should violent rape not have gone up at least something similar?

And another thing is that while the ethnicity of the victims is mentioned, the ethnicity of the rapist is concealed in the official records. Sweden has a law saying that ethnicity and religion is not included in crime stats.

Nobody wonders why.

The population growth is entirely due to immigration, as “Swedish women” on average have a birth rate of less than replacement.

Actually it is much less than replacement. A Swedish woman – naturally enough includes women born here of immigrant parents.

Sweden is now the fastest growing country in Europe in terms of population. The link is in Swedish but the lead story in translation reads, Never in modern history has Sweden’s population has grown at such a rapid pace and we are now the country that grows the most in Europe.

Over the past 10-15 years, immigrants have mainly come from Muslim countries.

Is this an explanation for the increase? If not, is it not right that the authorities should give an explanation? Even an explanation of doltish police, fairy-tale feminism, something in the tea, women taunting men, would be a step forward.

Michael Hess, of the Sweden Democrat Party wrote, in connection with the rapes that took place in Cairo’s Tahrir Square during the “Arab Spring”:

When will you journalists realize that it is deeply rooted in Islam’s culture to rape and brutalize women who refuse to comply with Islamic teachings? There is a strong connection between rapes in Sweden and the number of immigrants from MENA-countries [Middle East and North Africa].

This remark led to Hess being charged with “denigration of ethnic groups” [hets mot folkgrupp], a crime in Sweden. In May last year, he was handed a suspended jail sentence and a fine – the suspended sentence was due to the fact that he had no prior convictions for this kind of thing. The verdict has been appealed to a higher court.

For many years, Michael Hess lived in Muslim countries, and has first hand experience of Islam and its view of women. During his trial, he provided evidence of how sharia law deals with rape, and statistics to indicate that Muslims are vastly overrepresented among perpetrators of rape in Sweden.

However, the court considered that facts are irrelevant:

The Court [Tingsrätten] notes that the question of whether or not Michael Hess’s pronouncement is true, or appeared to be true to Michael Hess, has no bearing on the case. Michael Hess’s statement must be judged based on its timing and context. … At the time of the offense, Michael Hess referred neither to established research nor to Islamic sources. It was only in connection with his indictment that Michael Hess tried to find support in research and religious writings. The Court therefore notes that Michael Hess’s pronouncement was obviously not a part of any reasoned [saklig] or trustworthy [vederhäftig] discussion. Michael Hess’s pronouncement must therefore be viewed as an expression of disdain for immigrants with an Islamic faith.

Wow. Doesn’t that ring a bell? Where have I heard something similar before?

Why it might have been written in our own Bolt case.

In one case facts are irrelevant, in the other facts are terribly relevant. You are done if you make a mistake in peripheral issues.

Multiculturalism was not a Western sickness until muslims were permitted entry or came illegally. With their incompatible medieval values it became a whole new disastrous ball game. In the main most other people appreciate their adopted countries. Not the muslims with all that inferior baggage.

Honeybadger, until that little spiv Al Grasby greased his way into parliament and introduced ‘ multiculturalism’ it wasn’t even thought of by that name. If anything it was ‘multi-ethnic’ – and still is -. I don’t recall anyone giving it much thought when as and 10 12 year old I saw European immigration into Australia after WWII. In those days they were simply called New Australians. Unlike the Islamics, who want to turn Australian into the squalid sand pits of that they left behind, the ‘New Australians’ didn’t cause any fuss and just got on with work and providing for their families and becoming part of the Australia community.

The W in White Australia Policy now stands for what we used to call Italians.
