Palaszczuk’s taxpayer funded polling an ‘absolute disgrace’

16.09.20.  Sky News host Peter Gleeson has slammed the Palaszczuk government as “an absolute disgrace” after it was revealed the premier’s department spent over $500,000 to conduct polling on its border policies. The Australian is reporting Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s department “has been hiring pollsters to gauge voter ‘sentiment’ about the government’s COVID-19 restrictions”. “As Ms Palaszczuk readies for the October 31 state election, it can be revealed her office has spent more than $528,000 on coronavirus polling in the past few months and hired political strategist Mike Kaiser to help craft the state’s COVID-19 economic recovery,” the article continued. Mr Gleeson said the Labor Party have “disqualified themselves” from being re-elected at the October 31 election purely on the basis of this story.

The reaction to the ducks sneakyness will be reflected in the first week of prepolling. People are angry and fed up with the failures of this govt.
So vote early and vote often is the call

seadogger: I have seen some interesting numbers coming out the last few days, not doubt applying more so to rural and regional Queensland, however, should the numbers translate to votes, Queensland has a good chance of a hung parliament with One Nation being the Kingmaker.

      • Gary 16/09/2020, 7:25 am

“One Nation being the Kingmaker.” Let the sunshine in. And let it shine across the nation. Pauline may have difficulty articulating herself from time to time, something she has been humble enough to admit, but her heart and mind are clear for all to see.

I hope you’re wrong about a hung parliament. My wish is for One Nation to wipe the floor!

      • Albert 16/09/2020, 10:07 am

Gary, I doubt very much that One Nation will “wipe the floor” but I sincerely hope that they hold the balance of power.

Pauline done herself proud earlier tonight on Sky/ I think it was the Paul Murray part; she really knows her stuff and is game to say it; incredible that she can get around as much stuff as she does; bloody hard worker and always so spot on with her opinions too. Where would we be without her “giving it to them”. Go Pauline; all the best for the coming election with your party; and also bloody good on Clive; He is a top bloke when he is “taking the piss” against the dopey and corrupt and everything else duck person!!!!!

Paulines comment on GST was spot on entirely; makes one think; she sure is intelligent!! Great stuff!!

Mike Kaiser??? Have the the Labor numpties forgotten that he is the
“Numpty in Chief” when it comes to policy evaluation.

GR, a little time in the big house tends to do that to one so I am told.

    • Aktosplatz 16/09/2020, 8:42 am

He was appointed the “NBN’s Quality Officer” in 2011. That’s a laugh (not)

    • Pedro 16/09/2020, 10:56 am

Nice name .. KAISER. Surely tells you something

I’m still reeling over LNP’s dumb decision to vote to closed-down coal? Can anyone explain please! What was Frekkers thinking?

    • Pensioner Pete 16/09/2020, 8:29 am

Given the internal turmoil within the LNP currently, Freckles will be a feather duster come November 1, as will be the Puzzled Duck.

    • Lorraine 16/09/2020, 8:35 am

Frekkers cannot put a sentence that cuts thru ,I have never seen a woman suppose to be the leader with less cut thru , she mumbles on , you may say Pauline has trouble articulating her point ,,,,,but she has a point. I am from Victoria we have so much strife with Labor in Government so no doubt Queensland is worst ( if that is possible) ….But we had been told by Sky for months it was the polling that was keeping the borders closed, so who is surprise it cost $528000

      • Graham Richards 16/09/2020, 9:08 am

I’ve said on more than one occasion that there is only one political party in Australia:

A grand coalition of Greens, Labor/Liberal & nationals.
They simply take turns in applying the same BS using BS disguised as some other dreamed up crap.

I won’t list anything you all know the lists by heart,

    • Aktosplatz 16/09/2020, 8:44 am

In my constituency there are only three candidates:- Labor, LNP, and Palmer’s Party.

      Spoil my ballot paper?

  • Albert 16/09/2020, 10:17 am

The greatest enemy of our electoral system is preferential voting. It should be given the bum’s rush. First past the post would sort the wheat from the chaff.

    • Peter Sandery 16/09/2020, 4:28 pm

Totally disagree Albert and I will once again articulate my point for you and any others who do not understand the arithmetic of voting. If you have a polity of a large number of candidates, a situation that Australia is getting closer to, it is possible, with FPTP for you to end up with a legislative assembly with more the 65% of its member elected by a very small percentage of the total voters. You don’t have to look too far for an excellent example – PNG changed to first past the post from a modified preferential system and then changed back – The greatest problem Australia has is the complacency of the Australian voter combined with compulsory of voting

Guess who the chief spin doctor is for Queensland Union Labor, Mike Keysar.

Remember him, the Beattie Government Cabinet Minister forced to resign who later turned up in London working for the Queensland Government? Who after working in the London Office was given a senior highly paid job in Canberra by the Labor Government working for NBNCo?

Recycling is a Union Labor speciality.

    • Disgruntled 16/09/2020, 11:29 pm

Recycling is a Union Labor speciality
