Palaszczuk will reopen Queensland at 90% vaccination

21.09.21.  Queensland’s PalaceDuck at her ‘mad hatter’s tea party’ flagged a 90 per cent vaccination rate for the state’s reopening, deviating from the 80 per cent target as agreed in National Cabinet. The Duck is said to be “very comfortable” with a 90% target to begin reopening the state’s borders, despite lagging behind the rest of the country in the vaccine rollout. Queensland currently has the lowest rates of vaccination per state in the country, with just 59.7 per cent of the population having received their first dose of the vaccine, and 41.4 per cent for both doses. The Duck is yet to commit to a formal roadmap, unlike New South Wales and Victoria which have recently released plans for increased freedoms with corresponding targets.

Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson says the decision is unlikely to bode well with tourism operators in the state, which rely heavily on domestic travellers from Melbourne and Sydney.

Technically ‘Palacechook’ but known around these parts as ‘Pluckachook’

No one will continue to participate in any sport where the goal posts are continually being moved.

Puzzleduck, a word of warning, your continual shifting of the Covid goalposts in Queensland is wearing thin, expect a significant ramping up of citizens protests against the Queensland government from all quarters, enough is bloodywell enough, Puzzleduck, either resign today or get out of the bloody way and let Queenslanders live their lives as they see fit.

Should you elect to stay put, then do the bloody job you were elected to do, starting with the Queensland Health Department which has been a bureaucratic underfunded shambles since Goss ruled the roost.

    • Disgruntled 21/09/2021, 7:12 am

      Well put Pete,
The image at the top of this article almost (every time I look at it) does my head in; It IS becoming truer as every day passes.

Is anyone in the Qld Govt worth the oxygen that they breath??

I heard an interview with the guy that had clots in his fingers from the vaccine and it looked as if he could lose his fingers (and still might) and the response and help from Qld Health was almost bloody non existant. It was as serious as could be and no one got excited (I guess the guy would have). The wait for an ambulance transfer was I think (not real sure) about 12; thats right 12 hours.

Tis a worry; I fear we are stuck with them as almost every effer one talks to up the street thinks she is just great and doing a wonderful job; Nobody but nobody keeps up with the real news details and the duck spinners are doing a real good job for her; that is why she has so very many!!!

In the US now, if you report a vaccine injury or problem, the medical community will not listen to you or allow you into their offices.

…bureaucratic underfunded shambles since Goss ruled the roost.
Wasn’t that also krudd’s claim to fame PP?

      • Pensioner Pete 21/09/2021, 9:55 am

Goss was Premier, KRudd was an advisor who had far too much influence upon Goss and the government of the day. KRudds legacy of destroying the Queensland Water Commission resulting in the loss (redundancy) of the dam builders which is seen today for what it is, a catastrophic outcome for Queensland.

KRudd, the walking talking disaster on legs, never goes away like the stink from a dog poo stuck underneath ones thongs.

      • Botswana O'Hooligan 21/09/2021, 10:10 am

Yairs, rudd was the head serang of the public service and buggered it all up as usual and he gave us the likes of doctor patel in Bundy. Years later and for a reason unfathomable the health side of the show was somehow in charge of the payroll for all sorts of departments that had nothing to do with health. Some people were paid too much, some not enough, and some not at all and then it also came to pass that no one really knew who was getting paid too much so they sent out a signal asking everyone who had received too much to return it. One supposes that many of those who had an unexpected windfall are still laughing. An extremely interesting book could be written about government but people outside the government wouldn’t believe any of it since the truth is stranger than fiction, and those who work for the government accept all the ridiculous lurks and perks as the normal course of events and perfectly normal.

Remember the Heiner Affair? (‘nothing to see here’.)

    • Sir Peter 21/09/2021, 11:29 am

Not sure about ‘underfunded’. It’s just that the money goes to the wrong people. Slash the bureaucracy and fund health workers at the ‘coal-face’. Just like the University sector the ratio of bureaucrats to workers has gone through the roof. This happens in EVERY large organisation.

  • Ian 21/09/2021, 6:52 am

Today 90% of all adults over 16. Not much chance of that ever occurring.

Qld is going to be a bridge too far when it comes to winter holidays from now on.

And what is the palaceduck going to do when the international holiday makers, coming from countries where they have abandoned vaccine passports, want to visit?

    • Maryanne 21/09/2021, 8:19 am

Why there’ll be exemptions of course for people who bring in money.

  • Cliff 21/09/2021, 7:03 am

Am I the only one standing by for the announcement of 95% as the new requirement?

    • Disgruntled 21/09/2021, 7:23 am

      You sure are not Cliff.
If one did not see it for oneself it would be unbelievable.

Hey, I am so over Credlin always berating us with Commo Dan’s going-ons when here in Qld we have no better.

With this government Qld as we would want it is doomed!!

      • Albert 21/09/2021, 9:17 am

Don’t get upset about Credlin, Dis. She is a Victorian complaining about that little Victorian shit Andrews. Get someone of her calibre in Qld to give your useless clayton’s leader the works daily on teevs.

      • Disgruntled 21/09/2021, 10:23 am

        Albert. There are some good ones here mate but none of them have the opportunity to have a show like Petas’ which she does very well indeed;

What is getting hard to put up with is everything is Covid, Covid and more Covid on most news almost to the exclusion of most other news EXCEPT when it comes to the critism of any and every thing just a little right of centre left!

  • Lorraine 21/09/2021, 7:18 am

Queensland is the new home for 43,000 Victorians , why would you move there. Palaceduck is just as stupid as Dan the man…..many Victorians would like to move from Dan’s rules.

    • Cliff 21/09/2021, 7:32 am

And Lorraine, if Victorians move en masse to Queensland to escape Chairman Dan, guess what 95% of them will do? Exactly what 95% of the 43,000 who’ve already moved there have done – vote Labor/Greens.

    • Disgruntled 21/09/2021, 7:38 am

Every day Neil Breen and the Courier Mail brings to light a lot of the follies of the Qld Govt; One cannot just say Palla??? only as it is so very obvious that the whole bloody lot are in it; The saying is “we are all in it together”. Yair, too bloody right we are! (sarc)

As for the Victorians coming up here; It is the weather NOT (I hope) the Govt; (If it is the Govt, weeelll we are in for permanent deep pooey do) as well as the wide open spaces too (that aint gonna last either); I envy Pete with his apparent open spaces. The nice places I remember as a youngun are no more! Too many bloody people!!

Perhaps I am only just getting too old and crotchety

      • luk1955 21/09/2021, 7:09 pm

You are not getting too old Dis. You just remember, like me, when we really did have freedom and liberties. And grew up not getting urged to get stabbed with untested chemical compounds.

  • Maryanne 21/09/2021, 8:16 am

The fat slob knows she’ll never achieve 90% in Queensland (too many independent thinkers) so she’s declared herself tyrant for life.

  • Ibbit 21/09/2021, 8:59 am

The Palaceduck as well as being a disgusting person and hopeless premier is power hungry.
The move to 90% is just a way to go on defying the Feds and all and sundry because she is firmly of the opinion there are enough unthinking, brainwashed Queenslanders to re-elect her. She is probably correct as the LNP seems to be missing in action – or any meaningful action, as opposed to polite words from time-to-time. What hope have thoughtful electors of Queeensland got?

    • Disgruntled 21/09/2021, 10:36 am

Ibbit; your comment using “polite words from time-to-time” to explain the Qld opposition is ever so painfully correct.

I thought that David sounded as if he was going to be a huge prickly burr under the Govt’s saddle but he has been let down by so very very nice POLITENESS.
I guess he is “doing it his way”. I hope he knows what he is doing; It will not be easy under the Covid circumstances to dislodge Anastasia and her bunch; what with her 30 personal assistants (payed for with the money she is fleecing from Qld citizens). Bugger me she should be funding her personal “gee up” with her or her partys own money!

And Akto; you are right on the money with your 10:30 comment. All the recalcitrant Premiers are aiming for that; It sticks out like dog dangles too!

  • Aktosplatz 21/09/2021, 10:30 am

The Qld border will be fully opened if /when Albo becomes PM. (IF). That’s what this is about.

  • Sir Peter 21/09/2021, 11:34 am

I was tempted to raise the issue of roo shooters again, that would be illegal. So I won’t.

I would add, though, that I often wish I was one
