It is interesting to rejoin civilisation after being in the hinterland enjoying the paucity of TV, radio, and the internet for several days. Our SEQ hinterland is certainly delightful and made more so by the collection of Gurus, fortune tellers, séance specialists, crystal conjurers, the laying on of hands people, accommodation providores, and a motley collection of rogues who make Ned Kelly look genteel as they all charge like scrub bulls without batting an eye.

Just spent 2 weeks leave in WA (Perth to Albany tour) My first time there and I was very impressed. Saw a great open cut coalmine at Collie working steadily way dump trucks carrying 120 tonne loads busy carrying that lovely coal away.

Nice to see hard working people everywhere and great social company too. Lots of Boer War, WW1 WW2, Vietnam memorials they certainly did stuff over there. Road system seems better than Qld but I didn’t go everywhere.

Yairs Akto, Albany, Denmark, Pemberton, top spots tho those bloody windmills on the ridge line along the coast at Albany are an eyesore.

CO2, a comment posted at JoNova website today …

    March 8, 2020 at 5:24 am · Reply
The core issue claimed as the basis for all of this “social control” has been propagated in the face of scientific truth.

Those scientists formerly listed on Wikipedia were predominantly specialists in physics or geology and eminently more qualified than those coming from the more generalist Climate Science university courses.

Those Wikipedia rejects knew that CO2 couldn’t act in the manner proposed by the UNIPCCC because of very basic scientific imperatives.

The only point that needs emphasising about CO2 “IF” it selectively absorbed ground origin IR once above ground, is this: It cannot hold onto or trap that “heat”.

Equilibration with surrounding “air” molecules must be immediate, this gives rise to warming and consequent expansion of the parcel of atmosphere involved, which leads to vertical movement of that parcel: convection.

The moving parcel will rise until it reaches surrounding air at the same level of internal energy aka the same temperature.

Given that in this scenario it is obvious that the temperature of the gas parcel is in a process of reduction, it is ridiculous to suggest that stored “photons” are going to be sprayed towards the ground to cause any amount of the magical “Global Warming”.

    • Aktosplatz 08/03/2020, 5:08 pm

Carbon Dioxide is a very reactive gas that is absorbed into water to form mild carbonic acid. The water is present in the sky as cloud and is water vapour.

The liars from the Warmist mob say because CO2 is a ‘polar’ molecule that is O(-) – C(+) – O(-) showing the electrical charge on each atom, is responsible for heat entrapment thus causing so called Global Warming.

What the liars don’t tell you is that water vapour (H+) – (C)- – (H+) is also a polar molecule and there are plenty more in the sky – you see them as clouds and they deliver rain + dissolved CO2.
That dissolved CO2 in rainwater starts photosythesis causing plant growth and releasing oxygen. Yes OXYGEN – who needs oxygen?

      So what’s the problem? Seriously?

The problem is that the politicians and the UN can’t fleece the taxpayer on the grounds of climate change control taxes if that became known.

Saving the Planet? Seriously? From what? So I can fly anywhere in an aeroplane and purchase ‘carbon credits’ to save the planet?

Really? So Mother Earth forgives me flying from A to B providing I “offset” by planting a couple of trees ?

      Just pure lies.

We have one or two people in politics that speak up against this scam, the rest are just making money from us

      • DT 09/03/2020, 3:31 am

It always has been socialism globalism politics and wealth stealing.

Its hard to understand party values these days.
We have Matt Kean praising the dog Mike Baird stating he’s so great he could run for PM; Australia’s answer to Justin Treadue.
Seriously losing their way along with their marbles.

Just got this. Is Cairns news real or not? The following link could be very scary indeed when one gives a little bit of thought to China and biological research and the possible implications.

These virus are seeming to be getting more and more prevalent in recent years and could be used for any number of reasons. One could be population “control” . Easy reduction of numbers as the current virus does seem to wipe out mostly the elderly and infirm. Just think about it a bit!

    • Disgruntled 08/03/2020, 9:57 pm

Hey I tried twice to post 4 links to articles on the following news? link and the post failed so trying with this!

It’s through so I will follow with the 4 links and also read the comments section at the end of each article!

    • Disgruntled 08/03/2020, 10:07 pm

If these are only partly true the implications could be horrendous eh. An interesting cut and paste —-

Under capitalism the industry needs lower cost of labour whether skilled or unskilled. Therefore the policies would ensure a large supply and less demand ratio to enable low cost of skilled and unskilled labour to the industries.

In Communism it is forced labour at lower cost due to low wages and long hours of working and pathetic living conditions for labour.

Therefore there is no escape of exploitation from human beings either in Capitalism or Communism.

Dis, I posted the Maurice Strong Climate Crook – Quadrant story a while ago here. One of the leftists that engineered the climate hoax. He had close ties with the CCP and a cousin was once the girlfriend of Chairman Mao.

I understand that billionaire Canadian Strong envisaged a CCP style of controlled and managed capitalism, workers and approved capitalists. A new world order with one world government (parliament) and no borders, but obviously worker people restricted in travel and controlled generally.

I am intrigued by the clash between UN and CCP based NWO of trade and now Brexit and the Commonwealth of Nations based closer economic relations developing. And that people we know have connections on all sides (no surprise but the politics are interesting), the globalists. And the stand being taken by the United States led by President Trump with them and Japan interested in joining with Commonwealth nations for trade and defence purposes.

      • DT 09/03/2020, 4:03 am

Dis, the eugenics movement goes back to 1800s and UK Fabian Society of socialists and as this link reveals flows on to the present day.

Maurice Strong deceased Canadian citizen obtained asylum in China and died there and now your links name Canada as the source of COVID-19?

China Associates include three of our former prime ministers, two Labor and one Liberal In Name Only. And colleagues from Australia, with a fifth former Labor PM credited with opening up closer relations with China 1970s when the UN Lima Agreement to transfer manufacturing industry to developing nations was signed.

      • Disgruntled 09/03/2020, 7:08 am

DT, thanks for the reply. I don’t recall your [ Maurice Strong Climate Crook ] post. Sometimes I’m bloody slow at joining up the dots, but I googled it re. Quadrant and hey, the world and the people in it are really somewhat strange eh.

Assistance needed please, I still cannot log in at TPP now TRP because I am asked for: “The Richardson Post requires you to verify your email address before posting. Send verification email to ************** my email address. When I agree (many times) no email is sent to me.

I have emailed Harry a number of times with no reply. I wonder if there is a hacker playing games there again as took place several times at TPP?

I would appreciate somebody sending Harry an email to alert him.

Bk has reverted to DJT as my problems started a few days ago and Bk was accepted am and rejected pm. So after a while I opened a new account.

    Thank you.

Disquis recognises me but asks for me to accept a verification email, I do and get the message sent, but no email arrives. Harry must be receiving my emails because there is no mail not delivered notification.

I do not have a computer issue.

It has been confirmed that the reason for the rush for toilet paper started because the people have been given the shits by our dumb politicians.
So I guess the toilet paper issue will continue for several more years!

This link is to the amazing Amazing Polly, a Canadian who goes to great lengths on her YouTube channel to expose in detail matters involving “the swamp”, it’s high profile players, corporations, organisations, NGO’s and their links.
This video is about Event 201, a scenario held in Dec 2019 about dealing with a virus pandemic. And this is not the first time that scenarios have preceded the same actual event. Well worth watching and I’m sure you’ll continue watching her previous videos.

Time to say exactly what this is happening.
For all of Australia it has gone from 84 on Saturday to 125 now on Wednesday evening…
That is roughly doubling in less than a week

There always be some bloody idiots who think they know what is best for Australia and go wherever they want.
Selfish dumbnuts ! And to be frank it is these selfish dumbnuts that the government has been listening to.

You have been right all along Jo in every one of your posts.
And I have supported you with more factual evidence & informed comments.

But frankly I have grown tired of trying to persuade the utter idiots in government to adopt
Instead it seems our elected government believes as I said the other day :

So now it has reached the point where I must look to my own skills & knowledge to save myself. Thankfully over the past 6 weeks or so I’ve learned here and elsewhere, what will protect me & mine from this disease. Among them are :
No more face to face contact activities
Stay home as much as possible and go out only when it is essential
Stock up food and other essential supplies
Wear a mask & gloves in public areas
Take the supplements like Vitamin D & Potassium which help the body’s immune system defeat & minimise this disease.
And I’ve stocked up on a ig supply of books to read as well to alleviate the boredom.

I’m not a religous man but envy those who are, so one of the joys of my liturgically barren life is the approaching “Earthhour”. When I can turn on all my lights and irritate the bejeesus out of all those worshippers of st greta. As my dear wife would have said, ” Small things amuse…..etc……..”

  • DT 15/03/2020, 8:22 am

    A Jonova comment …

“As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no Coronavirus”

OK, so as this Coronavirus pandemic explodes and the panic goes into overdrive, I think it’s time to offer my input and a bit longer this time.

It would have been a thread on its own but the inability to embed images etc seriously impacts the result so I’ll confine it to my observations and recommendations.

A team of scientists created a vaccine that may have been able to prevent the deadly coronavirus outbreak, but they were never able to get funding to commence clinical trials, experts told Congress on Thursday.
Dr Peter Hotez, co-director of the Centre for Vaccine Development at Texas Children’s Hospital, testified before the House Science, Space and Technology Committee as health officials confirmed at least 160 cases of the Wuhan coronavirus in at least 17 states across the country.
“We had the vaccine ready to go,” the doctor told lawmakers about a vaccine his team developed to protect against a strain of coronavirus in 2016, but “by then nobody was interested in a coronavirus vaccine.”

Hell – why waste money on vaccines when there are wars to start, countries to invade, governments to overthrow, natural resources to plunder and people to kill.
The US spending on wars and death is now measured in tens of trillions of dollars.
Hey USA – how’s that working out for you now eh?

    Buying habits:
The toilet paper frenzy is abating slowly as people have stocked up and the mandatory 1 pack limit is being applied.
Bear in mind that if you don’t have food, toilet paper is not a priority! Grin.
Fresh produce – largely unaffected by panic buying.
Flour, rice, baked beans, pasta, pizzas, OJ, potato crisps, bread, noodles, soaps, disinfectants largely gone.
Note – natural antibiotics like Eucalyptus oil are available and excellent alternatives to mainstream alcohol based products.
Banning of some items like facemasks is now being implemented by sellers like eBay mainly due to price gouging.
Note – the run-of-the-mill cheap facemask is largely a waste of time anyway (so says the US Surgeon General and the CDC amongst others) so save your money.
Even the N95/N100 masks come in SIZES (NOT one fits all!) and there is a very rigorous fitting procedure as used by hospitals which we can all but guarantee is NOT being employed by the average person! I can’t embed a slideshow to show you the procedure but they are VERY VERY thorough.
Panic buying also severely limits the availability of same to medical personnel who genuinely need them.
I talked to an electrical store friend today and he said freezer sales have increased 4 fold. People really starting to stock up !

    What to buy (my advice):
Long life products that don’t require food or refrigeration until you’re ready to use them.
As I mentioned previously – stock up on Muesli.
It’s long life, cheap, tasty, nutritious, and you can add yoghurt, honey, ginger, whatever you want to suit your taste.
Make up a large batch and refrigerate. Will last you a week or more.
It’s also very filling so no hunger pangs.
Note – maybe people read my advice on that previously, but Muesli is really selling out fast here, so get stocked up while you can.

    Vitamin C.
    Now things get interesting!
As I mentioned before, China got 50 tons of this for treatment of patients vi high dose IV.
The results as of today are amazing.
From Xi’an Jiatong University – patients suffering from severe coronary pneumonia (nCov complication) have recovered.
Shanghai Medical Association recommends high dose vitamin C as Coronavirus treatment.
Also, trials confirm it stops the cytokine storm.
Medical recommendations out of the USA now suggest people concentrate on boosting their immune systems rather than rely on masks and future vaccines.
As I said before, people should be boosting their immune systems as a priority.
Now, understand that we’re not talking cures here.
We’re talking boosting your (typically weak) immune systems so that if you do get infected you’ll be in the best position to win out.
If multivitamin and especially vitamin C sales are anything to go by, people are now waking up to that fact!
Vitamin C sold out in supermarkets. BUY FAST, PEOPLE ! It’s going to make toilet paper look abundant.
I’d suggest bottles of 300 in 500mg sugarless variety.
Note – most animals produce their own vitamin C as are highly resistant to coronaviruses, unlike we humans.
Vitamin C is a well known powerful anti inflammatory immune system booster.
You CAN take high doses without adverse effects, as the high dose IV results show.
It’s excreted VERY quickly by the body (half life about 30 minutes) so it’s best to consume every few hours.
Note that due to the excretion rate you need to do this. When people say vitamin C isn’t any good it’s because people pop
a pill for breakfast and it’s all been excreted by lunchtime, leaving you vulnerable for 20 hours out of 24.

Next high priority item to stock up on is foods high in Selenium.
Examples – Yellowfin Tuna, sardines, baked beans, most meats (beef, turkey, ham (high salt content though) etc.
Around 200 grams or so per day is fine. DO NOT high dose on Selenium. Stick to RDI or slightly above.
    An interesting link:

    Next – Vitamin D.
No pills needed. Get outside in the sun. Even an Australian winter sun is sufficient in most places.
The benefits go beyond mere pill popping as there’s more vitamin D than just the vitamin, as the metabolic pathways are different.
BUT.. you must get sun for maximum benefit. No sitting inside at the ‘puter with a pill Jo. Grin.

    ph levels:
The effects of ph levels on viruses are well documented and as most people steer towards acidity, I’d suggest an alkalising agent.
These are getting promoted on tv now too but as exorbitant cost.
The cheapest (and currently not selling out. Hint…) is good old Bicarbonate of Soda.
1/2 teaspoon dissolved in water 3 times a day and see the difference!

    The medical non crisis:
Ok, Jo has mentioned (endlessly) the inability of the hospital system to cope with a real pandemic, and she’s sorta right on that.
In Australia we currently have around 700 public hospitals and around 650 private hospitals.
Let’s drop the private ones out, but no doubt in a real crisis the government could order them to assist.
Now we all know there is a hospital overload crisis don’t we, but let’s look at a main contributing factor to that.
Yes, the hospital clogging alcoholics, smokers, drug addicts, Darwin Award candidates.
People who seem intent on killing themselves by whatever means and then expect immediate help whenever it becomes necessary.
Based on my research a figure of 10,000 per hospital per year is about average, often emergency cases.
Now the doctors and nurses are damn sick of it, frustrated and exasperated, as they have every right to be, and there have been numerous articles, tv segments, polls etc reflecting that.
So let’s take 700 hospitals and multiply it by 10,000 .
It’s fair to say people and human nature won’t change much.
That works out to 7 million treatments for idiots per year.
Now that’s just under 1/3 of our population.
Given the extremely low morbidity and severe case rates & low population density here now in over 4 months since this started, I consider it extremely unlikely we’ll see anything like 7 million cases.
So…if we given Coronavirus cases priority in the hospital system the hospitals should be able to cope.
Note that Italy is now giving preferential treatment too.
As for the idiot squad – setup dedicated idiot units not part of hospitals, charge the idiots for treatment and let’s watch the idiot count drop when they realise they have to pay the price for their stupidity. End of the queue and you better have a healthy bank account.
Sounds heartless? Well, even doctors are saying the same thing !
As I suggested before too, in a tourism collapse, hotels could be put to good use and used as makeshift hospitals/quarantines.
Indeed other countries (notably China) are doing just that right now.
No need to build more hospitals and wait 10 years when this pandemic will burn out in FAR less than that, as they usually do as they typically obey Farr’s Law of epidemics (at least they all have so far).

    Final comment – Italy.
The curious thing is why are they being hit so hard. Seems to be a notably higher percentage of older people than Asia.
The Mayor of Florence needs one massive kick in the butt for his “Hug a Chinese” political stunt though.
    How dumb can you get!

OK, that’s it for now. Time to watch Outbreak with Morgan Freeman !

    • Neville 16/03/2020, 4:10 pm

      On your Italy remark:
I very recently discovered that there’s a LOT of Chinese nationals working in the northern parts of Italy, fashion centre Milan and surrounding areas, in the leather and fabrics industry.
They have some sort of special visa status, and there’s direct flights from that part of Italy to China. Some 100,000 were mentioned, but apparently quite a LOT of them, and some uncounted others, are illegally-entered, ie, no visa.
Early on, the Italian govt refused to close Italy to direct flights from China. And where did Italian COVID explode in numbers?
      Northern Italy.
      Just sayin’.

This gigantic global stunt, similar to the climate beat-up but obviously faster and more immediate, needs a special strategy.

The strategy is called “flooding the zone”. The buzz phrase came up often amid the nauseating corporate-speak of last October’s coronavirus exercise at Johns Hopkins (Bloomberg) with funding from Bill and Mel. Thanks to the physical immediacy, what the controllers would love to do with the climate issue, they really can do with disease, even if the disease has relatively few cases and deaths and may well be confounded with other infections and causes of death (multiplying lily pads etc not withstanding).

As Event 201 planned, the populace is engulfed in “information” to the point that even a refugee from media can’t avoid saturation. Makes one yearn for the good old days of RussiaRussiaRussia, GretaGretaGreta, firefirefire.

This lady, bit of a Trump-booster, is sometimes worth a listen, especially on the all-important subject of conditioning. Here in a video about Event 201 she describes “flooding the zone” as building a wall of noise. Seems about right. https://tinyurl.com/w2vnt45

Hit those red thumbs, people…and flood that zone!

I was watching Michael Portillo’s “Train Journeys” tonight and this time it was up through the centre of Alaska to Anchorage. He had his usual guide book (Athertons?) written over 100 years ago. In it there was lamentations from the long dead writer and his sources that Portillo read out describing how the glaciers in those far off days were receding and disappearing.
What a curious thing, here we are over 100 years later and the glaciers are still there and still receding.

    • Botswana O'Hooligan 18/03/2020, 8:41 am

They are there alright John, spectacular. Used to stage through Anchorage, Nome, and the Alaskan capital of Juneau. Still daylight at 0200 in mid summer, sun just has a bit of a squint at the place in winter and goes back to sleep, woolly mammoth beer was the “go.”

      Time for roadblocks.

Fortunately for PP, our little town is simply way too far out for the idiots to come and clean us out, being hundreds upon hundreds of kilometers away from the regional cities.

The issue however, is the fact, restocking the local store shelves is delayed because stocks in the warehouse in the big smoke are depleted, thus no trucks of goods coming our way at the moment.

However, once the drongos have stocked up on six months of fresh food, canned and dry foods, the situation may return to somewhat normal.

No matter what, we will be fine out here from all this madness.

      • Bwana Neusi 18/03/2020, 11:26 am

      • Cliff 18/03/2020, 9:29 pm

For no other reason but to avoid crowded supermarket shopping yesterday I drove to a small coastal village that has a Foodworks Supermarket in a small shopping precinct, I sometimes go to the baker shop there and buy takeaway breakfast or lunch and coffee.

What a pleasant experience, it was a little busier than usual but people were relaxed, polite and calmly buying what they needed, I did not see any panic buying and the shelves were well stocked.

And as I drove out of the carpark a delivery semi-trailer was pulling in.

PP I heard about the household food and goods delivery problem, a guest on Sky said consumers from Adelaide to Darwin are experiencing supplies delays because of the city panic buying.

I hope this situation improves quickly, apparently there is no shortage of products in the warehouses.

      • DT 19/03/2020, 12:40 pm

From Michael Smith News, a comment …

        seeker of truth said…
Further to my post about the Chinese shoppers descending on regional supermarkets,
I wonder how Jessica Rudd’s daigou enterprise is fairing in this panic buying in Aussie supermarkets. Though she no longer owns Jessica’s Suitcase, she has shares in the company that purchased it.

Jeeica Rudd is the founder of Jessica’s Suitcase and non executive director of eCargo Enterprises, both of which are now divisions of the giant Chinese company Alibaba –

        From a 2017 article –

“…..The five-year-old daigou business model is also evolving. Rather than buying products in Australia and transporting them over, a new breed of shopper-sellers now base themselves in China, where they can engage with customers more easily.

These intermediaries, now known as “WeShang” shoppers, or “social media-driven business”, then send instructions to all-in-one “pack-and-send” offices in Australia for delivery.”

The daigou and WeShang formats still operate in Australia and maybe are working as agents for Alibaba under its business models. The “pack-and-send” offices have now repackaged themselves with a different type of shopfront –

This was reported on news.com.au on 26 Feb 2020 –

‘Massive boom in personal shopping ‘gift shops’ sees thousands emerge across Australia’

“A new type of shop, with blacked-out windows and a seemingly strange collection of goods inside, has emerged in Aussie suburbs.

Along just 200m of a bustling shopping strip in Sydney, five similar-looking shops with covered-up windows have popped up in recent months.

Unless you speak Mandarin, it would be hard to tell what the stores, found along Kingsford’s Anzac Parade, are selling from the outside.

They have emerged over the past few months as part of a major shift in the suburb’s demographic over several decades, which has seen its traditional Greek and Aussie population decline.

And with the University of New South Wales down the road, thousands of Chinese students now call Kingsford home. That’s almost 30 per cent of the suburb’s population, according to the latest census….

Lined up against the walls, there are large stacks of popular brand name baby formula tins and piles of empty mailboxes alongside them.

Jamie Yi, who works at one of the stores called Easy Go, told news.com.au the range of goods on display in the shop are on sale to the public, but the majority of what they sell goes directly to China.

“People in China can probably find this stuff online, but what they find is that when they pay for it, it’s fake sometimes,” she said.

The shop also sells the products to Chinese students who resell the products through social media sites such as WeChat and Weibo and through online shopping sites.

This has opened up a major money-making opportunity for the 1.4 million Chinese students studying in Australia as they look to sell high-quality health products to their homeland.

While the process – known as daigou shopping – has been around in Australia since 2008, the numbers of physical stores, such as those emerging in Kingsford, have exploded over the past two years….”

Just who is behind these “Easy Go” stores?

Go get them Peter Dutton. In this crisis, no food items should be air freighted to China. Profiteering is out, daigous are out. These small business enterprises by Chinese students are out and when they come back into operation, they should be taxed.

I’ve had enough of being used by Chinese “Johnnie-come-latelys”, be they individuals or companies.

Reading Churchill’s biography. In 1945,as WW2 ended he lost the general election to Clement Atlee’s Labour Party. Averill Harrimen, who was a US politician told him that had the UK had proportional representationhe would have won that election.
Churchill’s response:-” I will fight against the evils of proportional representation with all of my strength,” he said. “Democracy can only succeed if the people know which party was accountable and responsible for decisions taken by the government (UK system is first past the post.)

I wonder if there’s just one ‘teacher’ out there who is now feeling just a little bit discomfited about the way she (they’re damn near all ‘she’) has conditioned a whole generation of children into thinking they have no future over the climate change hoax. There will be some of those children – I fear far too many – already in near despair over the climate change nonsense, for whom the scare over the Corona virus will be too much.

I sincerely hope I am wrong, but I fear we will all too soon be hearing reports of self harm, even attempted suicide, as some, conditioned into near despair by the climate change alarmists, see this current REAL crisis as one crisis too many.

Given the Aussie dollar is collapsing, thus imports more expensive whilst our exports will boost, perhaps now, our dunderhead government will see their way to get Aussie manufacturing back on the agenda. Hopefully, we are witnessing the death of ‘globalisation’ at this time.

    • DT 20/03/2020, 9:48 am

PP, yes to reviving manufacturing and yes to the death of globalism as in NWO/OWG agenda.

But manufacturing revival will require primarily State governments to change direction, to get rid of many government regulations red and green tape and compliance costs, to dump the damaging renewable energy transition that was never going to replace power station generators, convert State land National Parks back to State Forests and build dams, allow sustainable logging and exploitation of minerals and energy.

      And much more.

If ever there was a way to numb the minds of the general public when coronavirus is mentioned it is to continue to run the 24/7 media coverage that saturates the airwaves and newspapers and frightens the crap out of the elderly.
We have our senses numbed by the non-stop droning of TV commentators and the endless stream of “experts” all telling us their different opinions, most of which are non-factual, contradictory and misleading rubbish that does little more than create confusion and induces panic in those members of the general public not mentally capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff.
It would do us all a great big favour shut down the waffling idiots by giving us an update for one hour in the morning and then another one hour in the evening. In between resume entertaining TV programmes to ease the induced boredom of most and the panic in others.

    Rising Sea Levels–The Climate Debate

The seas and oceans to the east of Australia form the largest body of water on Earth.
This broadly connected vast body of water presents a genuine sea level. The Sydney Fort Denison Recording Station provides stable, accurate and genuine mean sea level data.
The following table shows mean sea levels at 10-year intervals and
these levels are related to Chart Datum which is at the lowest spring tide level.

    1914 –1.11 metres
    1924 –0.98 metres
    1934 –0.98 metres
    1944 –0.97 metres
    1954 –1.00 metres
    1964 –1.09 metres
    1974 –1.09 metres
    1984 –1.02 metres
    1994 –1.04 metres
    2004 –1.08 metres
    2014 –1.12 metres
    2019 –1.05 metres

    Average 1.0442 metres

Accordingly, the mean sea level at Sydney in 2019 is 6 centimetres lower than the mean
sea level at Sydney in 1914 when the Bureau Of Meteorology commenced recording
    Mean Sea Level.

High Sea Levels during Storm, Cyclone & Low-Pressure Events.

BBC and ABC commentators have asserted that sea levels may permanently rise by 1 to 2 metres in the next 100 years. 100 years of records on the largest water body on Earth indicates that this is incorrect.

There has always been short period storm and low pressure rises in sea levels. The highest recorded sea level at Sydney occurred during the 1974 low-pressure storm. The sea level rose to 30 cm above high spring tide level for one day. During recorded history, there has been no indication whatsoever of a 100 to 200 cm permanent rise in sea level.

There will always be short period storm, cyclone and low pressure rises in sea levels in close proximity to cyclone and storm centres. These storm centre rises in sea levels are not permanent.

Ocean swells and storm waves can exceed 16 metres during major storm surge events. It is these massive waves that have caused significant damage to coastal and island communities in the past. It is certain that huge storm event waves will occur in the future and will cause significant damage to the island and low lying communities. Coastline and flood zone protection is the sane answer to storm event damage.

It is polite and essential that the world population should avoid incorrect climate nonsense. We need to divert the alarmist energy to caring for the planet. Cease polluting the oceans. Prevent development of flood-prone land and threatened coastal zones that have been, and will always be, subject to flooding.

Commonwealth of Australia is a Federation of States, the former colonies that came together to form the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Federal Government does not have absolute power, the States have sovereignty in their own right according to the Constitution.

COAG is all of the States and Territories and the Federal governments but in most areas the States have the power and responsibility, in the Health Crisis example: Public Health and Hospitals, Public Schools, Police, Law and Order etc. In other words COAG leaders group are the decision makers based on advice from medical authorities but each Premier is free to make State decisions together with State Cabinets.

Poorly informed or journalists making mischief try to create the impression of disunity and failings of the PM. One even likened the Health Crisis to war. Defence of Australia is a Commonwealth responsibility, not States. But Health is State responsibility.

Of course Premiers might differ from Prime Minister from time to time, that does not make the PM weak, in fact his strength is on display as he negotiates and actions various leader’s decisions at COAG. So one or two States decide to close schools and others do not. That is State right to decide.

Another question was about the Opposition Leader Albanese being invited to join the leaders on a bipartisan basis. He is not a Premier or PM and leader of a government. And as for bipartisan, there are 5 State and Territory Labor Premiers and 4 State Coalition Premiers and Prime Minister at COAG.

State power are many and varied, another example is power stations and dams, they can only be constructed with State approval, Federal does not have those powers.

    • DT 23/03/2020, 10:42 am

The divide, NSW Premier acts to close schools contrary to Prime Minister’s advice.

And there is another example of a journalist beating up a story.

The COAG leadership group consists of the State and Territory Premiers and the Prime Minister who is like a company board chairman of leaders. But in this example the State and Territory leaders, emphasis on States, have the final say on schools and education, that is their constitutional right.

Furthermore, the advice to keep schools open is medical authority advice to the leaders, the PM is merely following that advice. And, with the COVID-19 the advice, the PM has pointed out, changes regularly as circumstances change.

  • Geoff 23/03/2020, 6:55 am

Please disseminate this, as I believe that this is an emerging problem.
Something that I have heard very little about:
With the advent of toilet paper hoarding, and a lot of people having none, we have the possibility of the flushing of non-biodegradable alternatives, such as baby wipes, hand wipes, falsely-claimed ‘flushable’ wipes, and other unsuitable substances.
Any item that is flushed down the toilet, that will not biodegrade, can cause massive sewer blockages, resulting in sewage overflow, and the possibility of all of the diseases related to raw sewage.
Can you imagine the health problems caused by raw sewage running down the streets? That is a dangerous possibility.

    • DT 23/03/2020, 10:44 am

Yes, potentially a very serious problem Geoff, but convincing the masses will be difficult.

      • luk1955 24/03/2020, 7:15 am

Apparently people have been paying huge amounts of money to plumbers because their sewer lines have been blocked by these wipes and other crap going down the sewer pipes.

    • DT 24/03/2020, 1:37 pm

Albo Two Way Union Labor are desperate for relevance as the focus is on the PM and Premiers, COAG based leaders cabinet.

Labor wants their leader in the leader’s cabinet, but he is not a government leader and imagine the chaos if all opposition leaders were having a say but with now power or responsibilities.

      I read that the Albo Union Labor game plan was;

      1. Use the Bushfire Season to undermine the PM and Government he leads.
      2. Use the Health crisis to expand on the smearing campaign.
      3. To claim that the economy was already collapsing before COVID-19.

Well how about these facts Albo?

      * GDP Growth 2007 before Rudd Union Labor formed government 4.2%
      * Strong economic growth 1006-2007.
      * Weakening growth from GFC impact, very mild here because of major economic reforms 1985-2007, APR established 1998, banking regulator, Future Fund that removed the need for provision to made in financial year budgets for public service pensions.
      * 2007/08 a $22 billion budget surplus.

And thereafter under Labor no surpluses and debt went from zero to over $400 billion after funding Labor Budget items for 2013/14 that Labor made no provision to pay for, like Gonski and NDIS.

GDP growth 2020 was heading for about 2%, but now maybe a recession due to COVID-19. Above global average but behind the USA and noting that Germany was in recession in 2019 and had forecast 0.5% GDP growth 2020.

Of course the situation has changed dramatically with the Health crisis. But as the Treasurer has pointed out the survival plan for business and people could not have been as strong without the Budget being in balance.

Each Way Albo and cronies are insignificant.

  • Albert 24/03/2020, 9:32 am

  • DT 24/03/2020, 1:48 pm

Last night on Sky: The Federal Government has commissioned four engineering firms to manufacture 1,000 ventilators with the possibility of more orders.

Vaccine available within 12-18 months, normally takes 10-15 years.

ABC relying on journalist Dr Norman Swan GP for advice on COVID-19 and he is a government critic, and unqualified to speak about the virus.

    The ABC and sections of the MSM are claiming that government reaction to COVID-19 has been too slow. Not true. Consider the other earlier criticism;

    * Stopping flights from China is racist.
    * Sending people for quarantine on Christmas Island is unreasonable.
    * More testing earlier, yet Australia is one of the top nations to commence.

The PM and Premiers rely on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and State counterparts, State Health and Public Hospitals are on the front line.

State governments are responsible for maintaining law and order, closing business premises and beaches, etc. The PM and Premiers leaders cabinet via COAG are the decision makers, the PM is the spokesman and the Federal Government handles Centrelink and other support for the business and general community together with the States.

No point picking on Premiers or PM or making assumptions without inside knowledge. There are more Labor Premiers than Coalition Premiers and PM.

  • DT 24/03/2020, 1:58 pm

I have to share my gotcha moment around 10pm last night, I sent a woke relative information on Q10 from TPP/TRP that mentions “Chief” President Trump.

    So far no response.

  • Cliff 25/03/2020, 1:30 pm

Someone suggested that China should be forced to pay reparations (a la Germany after WW1) for the damage this virus has done to the rest of the world.

My guess is that if there was a politician out there with the balls to

    (a) suggest, and

    (b) see any such measures implemented (as in through the UN – yeah, right),

…the Chinese would simply ignore it and quickly attempt to put things back to normal (or ‘normal’ as they see it, with them calling in the huge debts other nations have taken out from China).

But there would be a way to recoup that money demanded in reparations. Surely the debtor nations (or even better, the UN – yeah, right) could simply declare that their debt to China has been reduced by the amount it has been agreed China should pay in reparations. This could even be extended to resuming property in those nations owned (or leased?) by China.

A certain port in the Northern Territory springs immediately to mind.

If reports that this virus is man made and that it has been deliberately – or even accidentally – released by the Chinese, it is an act of war, pure and simple. So World War 3 has started – but one side (that’s us) hasn’t accepted that yet.

    • DT 26/03/2020, 9:17 am

The Port of Darwin is leased and the Chinese company is a global shipping company that leases ports world wide. Putting this into perspective, the Port of Darwin is a section of Darwin Harbour, not the whole Harbour.

As I recall, the Lease was entered into by the Northern Territory Government and requires the shipping firm to upgrade Port facilities and maintain the Port to a high standard.

I understand that Chinese businesses have links to the CCP but in this example the shipping company owns many container and other ships and is a major operator in the sea cargo business.

As for COVID-19. I agree that if the virus was a deliberate release and if not because China covered up the situation and delayed other nations from taking evasive precautions China should pay a penalty.

And so should the United Nations World Health Organisation for allowing and aiding the cover up.

There has been much said on other blogs about two medicines which are being touted as a cure for the Chinese Wuhan Virus, being Hydroxychloroqine (Plaquenil) and Azithromycin.

I took advantage of an opportunity during a telephone consult with my doctor a short time ago, and I was advised these medicines are not yet approved for use in Australia, and to be aware they present very serious side effects including suppression of the immune system.

PP continues to ingest Calcium Ascorbate because it kept me free of the flu in previous years and hopefully, this year also.

    • Bwana Neusi 26/03/2020, 2:57 pm

      Partly right PP.
Plaquenil is available in Australia for prescribed use specifically for the treatment (and yes suppression of) auto immune deficiency illnesses, such as lupus, sjogren’s syndrome and some forms of arthritis. It suppresses the immune system to prevent it going into overdrive and attacking its own body. It is highly dangerous and my wife who has lupus and takes Plaquenil has to have regular blood checks.

Due to the current financial situation caused by the Corona Virus and slowdown in the economy, the Government has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to the Government to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the Government deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the Government.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. The Government has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your TD, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.)

PS – Due to Corona Virus, recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Then of course they have hired those at the desks checking your name on the register for their ability to not understand English and how to garble their questions in some sing song lingo behind the masks they wear. I resorted to giving my name in the phonetic way and the sing song lady didn’t understand that either. The country is buggered. The thing is that these sing song refugee people were so poor when the refugeed here that they couldn’t afford buttons and had to use gold painted over, same for bibles many were clutching, couldn’t afford paper, just gold leaves.

      • Pensioner Pete 30/03/2020, 3:22 pm

DT: Unfortunately, your comment of people going back to sleep has considerable credibility. The fools will not realise until too late.

The MSM must be running out of Covid-19 scare mongering because this afternoons Sydney Morning Herald is reintroducing the CO2 bullshit again.

It was hard to find the Australian fatalities this morning but I eventually did, 19 dead out of over 4000 cases or a death rate of 0.4% so we are plunging into a depression all because 19 people have died. The country is in chaos, people are unemployed and businesses closed, people won’t come within a barge pole distance of another person, and 19 people have died so that when this is eventually over these incompetents in the halls of power will hit us to leg with all sorts of fancy “levies.” Ironically, the dead were mostly old people and most had other underlying health problems.

PP has been taking a daily/nightly look-see at the various flight monitoring software and so far, PP is of the belief the export of our medical supplies and equipment, plus groceries stripped from supermarket shelves continues, unabated as this report states.

    Refers: https://9now.nine.com.au/a-current-affair/coronavirus-medical-supplies-shipped-from-australia-to-china/bab60476-81c3-4956-b252-dcabdb49923a

About two weeks ago, Peter Dutton claimed he had sooled the AFP onto those stripping these essentials and thus denying Australians the medical goods and groceries we need.

NOTHING HAS HAPPENED, We have been LIED to as per usual by the so called ‘OUR government’, a government which is demonstrating each day, to be definitely not ‘OUR government’ but the lackey of China and continuing to progress the UN 2030 agenda along with the Paris Accord.

What will it take to have Australians rise up and demand en-masse, that our government actually be OUR bloody government.

PP I cannot find any news references to continuation of supermarket raids by foreigners or others. I am aware that shipments scheduled for airfreight were confiscated and airports are being monitored.

Also Federal and State Police are keeping alert for raiding parties.

However, Australia’s export of products continues as it was before COVID-19.

      Ports, Aviation. Transport and Logistics

Continuing indicators are that ports, transport and logistics networks are returning to normal operations.

More key rail and road links opened in the previous week with domestic travel restrictions easing around the country.

Shanghai resumed its interprovincial bus lines to surrounding provinces (with the exception of Beijing and Hubei), but has maintained incoming anti epidemic checkpoints from those regions.

Sichuan Province has announced similar re-openings with the exception of Beijing and Hubei. In China’s north-east, Harbin has restored 60 more inter and intra provincial train services, while Liaoning added an extra nine provincial train services. Shenzhen, in Guangdong, removed all road anti-epidemic checkpoints.

Shipping and logistics companies have advised that port operations outside Wuhan are now operating normally including truck transport which is clearing out cargo backlogs.

All transportation including road, flight and rail will resume to and from Wuhan with the ban to be lifted on the 8th April 2020.

Despite ports returning to normal operations, congestion in China caused through February continues to cause issues through the sea freight industry, with a shortage of containers (particularly refrigerated containers) and ships leading to potential delays at the Australian end and increases in sea freight costs.

China’s international aviation routes continue to drop, but domestic aviation is increasing. In the previous week domestic flights increased to 40 percent of normal levels as more workers return to businesses and factories. This is particularly noticeable in the Pearl and Yangtze River Delta regions.

International passenger flights continue to drop (1073 flights scheduled for the week of 23 March, down from 1291 two weeks previously. Scheduled direct passenger flights between China and Australia continued to rise, up to 42 per week (around 25 percent of normal capacity).

Advice received is that scheduled cargo flights into China have increased by around 8 percent over the last two week period, from 870 to 930.

Australia to China weekly cargo flights have increased from 11 to 19 since the COVID 19 outbreak.

Never ceases to amaze me; the POS licks the butt of the Chinese till his tongue drops off. Why not just go and live there if you like it so much?
      Treasonous dog!

  • Aktosplatz 31/03/2020, 11:39 am

With all travelling paused ( especially airline) and activity silenced, we can confidently expect the CO2 level (ppm) in the atmosphere to plummet, can’t we?

The Paris Agreement will have been fully met many times over – won’t it?

The KGB rep came to me bearing a story she just heard on some wog program from either a Latvian or someone from Belarus, and it related that this virus would have been way worse if the Chinese and Asiatic people in general weren’t as hygienic as they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
