As expected, the worker shortage occurring in Queensland and likely other states as workers walk, rather than be jabbed. These are the people who will fill the vacancies when the jabbed either fall of their perches, or are too ill to continue at a place of work.

    Refers: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-30/vaccine-pressure-heavily-covid-threat-queensland-workers/100579004

    • Cliff 30/10/2021, 7:00 pm

It would seem to me that there are a lot more refusing the jab than the line we are being fed by the guvimmit/overly compliant MSM.

      • DT 30/10/2021, 7:10 pm

At least 87.50% of people 16 and over in NSW are fully vaccinated as of today, Saturday 30 October 2021.

        [source Daily Telegraph]

Add single vaccinated and close to 95.0% of populated vaccinated and soon to be fully vaccinated.

Other states are not too far behind with governments suddenly desperate to catch up to NSW, Labor State Governments who were playing politics based on fear campaigns crafted to fool voters.

    • DT 30/10/2021, 7:05 pm

Vaccinations started in the UK in December 2020, Oxford-Astra Zeneca, are you aware of recipients now “falling off their perches”?

I know a family there and they and their friends are all well they have told their daughter who lives here.

The worker shortage In Queensland and other parts of Australia were a problem long before the pandemic began here early in 2020, back packer tourists were sought after while residents not far away preferred welfare from Centrelink: eg; Bundaberg Region, Childers and other hostel towns supplying farm labour.

Quoting you DT: “Vaccinations started in the UK in December 2020, Oxford-Astra Zeneca, are you aware of recipients now “falling off their perches”?

Good to hear the family you know are ok, however, when I see reports with FOI requests revealing at least part of the truth, for example, this link: https://rightsfreedoms.wordpress.com/2021/07/15/fact-deaths-due-to-the-covid-vaccines-in-the-uk-after-6-months-are-407-higher-than-deaths-due-to-all-other-vaccines-combined-in-the-past-11-years/

These reports do nothing but heighten my personal concerns at outcomes after being jabbed, thus PP will remain jab free. Like most, I have most the vaccinations to date, however, the FluVax and the Covid vax remain ‘Persona non grata’ for PP.

      • John 31/10/2021, 9:32 am

On either side of the argument it is possible there are , “Lies, damn lies and statistics”. Each day in Australia 550 odd people die, there has been over 35 million chinese flu shots given to people with and without comorbidities, approaching 90% double vaxxed. With those numbers it would be impossible for deaths and Vax`s not to overlap.
Sheer numbers don`t convey a lot of information, a ruler without a scale on it is still just a bit of wood.
I totally agree that once the issue subsides there needs to be an investigation. Not into the source of the flu, we all know. But into those arguments ably put forward here. But who should be the malleus maleficarum?. The Govt- no darn way, the drug companies- no darn way, the WHO- no darn way or the UN, no darn way, Medical mutual admiration societies- no darn way. Witnesses all but all with something to hide.
        Perhaps the International Criminal Court.

These figures are for deaths “by any cause within 28 days of vaccination”. Vaccinate 48 million people, starting with the most elderly and chronically ill and you will find a high number will die within a month.(About 45,000 people die in England and Wales alone each month in a NORMAL year) This is basic statistical interpretation, which requires that you separate causal data from figures normally to be expected ie a control.
There have been no deaths in the UK, from any data sources I can find, shown to have been caused by the vaccines.
Similarly, Yellow card reports are not of known adverse reactions. They merely report any illness or symptom occurring within that time frame.
That is why my Migraine tablets, for example, have to list “headache” as a very common possible reaction; unsurprisingly, a large number of people whose Migraines are so severe the require specialist medication will have a headache within a month of first taking it.

    • luk1955 13/11/2021, 9:04 am

PP it is amazing that the number of “cases” has exploded by dozens of times after the appearance of the vaccines. More deaths due to this vax than all previous vaxs put together. But the big problem is what will happen in the next few years as the body is programmed to turn on itself, by blood clotting and respiration illnesses.
No other vax or medication has been pushed by such a fear campaign as this. And with Gates saying numerous times that vaccines can be used as a depopulation agent, and with he himself making billions from this experiment, one has to wonder why the rush over such an influenza like illness. What the hell would a computer nerd know about a vaccine? He gave us an operating system so porous it has to be patched on a daily schedule.
Whatever. The fear campaign has been an enormous success for the main vax makers, and for governments looking to cull the population, especially the elders on pensions. As stated by Joe Hockey back in 2015.

  • Botswana O'Hooligan 30/10/2021, 8:35 pm

The real problem is welfare for in reality who would want to go to work when they could be paid not to work, and in fact many people are doing just that, sitting on their backsides and not working.

  • John 31/10/2021, 5:46 am

With an old car, old frig or tv there is a point reached when you have to say it is beyond repair. When it has to be dumped. Is there such a point with a society?. Can a society reach a point where the failures are beyond repair and collapse the only option?.
In Orlando, Florida there is Olympia High School where in contrast to civilisations peak suggested by Olympia it has plumbed the depths of decay.
The Homecoming Queen for this year has been announced, Evan Bialosuknia. Evan wore what appeared to be a fetching gold sequin dress with a daring slit revealing his long and lovely legs and admitted his nervousness at the announcement. All his life he admitted,
” I want to be a queen, I want to be that star in a moment of glory.”

Tend to agree John. I saw that ‘news’ yesterday and couldn’t believe all the cheering. I say here often that the now majority are brain dead, brain washed retards and see nothing to refute that. Our gene pool needs chlorine and society is beyond repair.

Energy crisis, net zero emissions politics, other UN based interference in the potential prosperity of nations like National Parks in Australia where minerals and energy like huge shale oil deposits are now locked away.

I was reminded of Coober Pedy 2013, what happened to it since?

    • John 31/10/2021, 1:22 pm

Glen Davis and Joadja too, DT. Not 100% sure on Joadja but Glen Davis could not compete with middle east supplies on price which lead to it’s demise. Might be worth buying a few blocks, you think?. Fascinating place, the town was designed completely, the streets, the central square, the houses and refinery before a sod was turned. Mostly memories there now and weary weekenders, a handful of locals. We went to a Locals and Tourists bbq in the Camping Reserve, a monthly affair. One local rocked up in the dark, had headlights mounted on his walking frame. Brilliant.

      • DT 31/10/2021, 2:25 pm

I have visited Glen Davis a few times but many years ago with friends John.

Today the technology related costs of extracting shale oil and gas have reduced considerably which is why the US has experienced an oil and gas boom and changed back from being an importer to an exporter, and now has vast storage reserves of oil. You might recall that Australia entered into an agreement with the US Government when POTUS Trump was in office, the US sold Australia a lot of oil and agreed to store it there until storage was built here.

From what I have read the Federal Government has been quietly working on securing oil and fuel supplies since around 2018 and no doubt the China situation is a major factor. Maybe subject of course to State Government cooperation (wishful thinking maybe or the Federal Government uses emergency powers or at least threatens it) our deposits like at Glen Davis, and Coober Pedy, will be accessed? The largest known reserves are in Queensland. And distant family members told me decades ago about capped Commonwealth Oil Refinery wells in Western Queensland, Winton and Roma Districts for example.

I have also read that the coal conversion to fuel plant already built will be expanded in the not distant future.

The US has been taken over by corruptocrats. The stolen election is just the latest manifestation of that – its been on-going for years.

The Democrap Party, and a large section of the Republicans, are fascists, i.e. a blend of communism with private property for the apparatchiks. All of them, and their mainstream media and Big Tech enablers have to be arrested, tried and [stop incitement to violence!! Last warning SP. MM.Ed.]. The only issue is whether that purge is brought about by a duly elected government (Trump) or by the people acting outside the law

    Australia is close behind.

    • Sir Peter 02/11/2021, 9:22 am

What if I inserted “if found guilty” after ‘tried and’. Would that solve the problem? [YES! you are catching on. Why don’t you use a real email instead of many fakes? MM. Ed.]

  • Sir Peter 01/11/2021, 8:24 am

When/if the overseas student market resumes there must be NO CHINESE allowed

The universities have been bought and paid for by the Chinese Communist Party. They knowingly and willingly participated in the greatest theft of intellectual property in history.

As many thousands of the two million “Chinese Australians” living here are CCP agents, there must also be a massive vetting process before any of them can work in jobs where national security or industrial espionage are a risk. The threat of harm to relatives back home makes them all potential traitors.

    Ain’t multiculturalism wonderful

This is a readers response to so-called rising Sea levels’ threatening a Welsh Village, and the Council want everyone to move. He points out that this does not seem to affect the self appointed elites. He says (quote):-

    1) Al Gore 2006. “Seas could rise by twenty feet”

Four years later Al buys himself a 9 million dollar sea front mansion. Complete with 6 fireplaces, 5 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.

    2) Barak Obama. In 2019 Barak bought his family an $11.75 million dollar 7 bedroom 8 bathroom mansion in a 29 acre estate on the waterfront in low lying Martha’s Vineyard.

    3) John Kerry. In 2017 John, Biden’s ‘Climate Czar’ buys a $12 million dollar 7 bedroom sea front Mansion in Martha’s Vineyard.

    4) Bill Gates. In 2020 Bill and Melinda buy a $43 million dollar 6 bedroom mansion on the sea front near San Diego.

    5) Emma Thompson. In April 2019 she flies 1st class from Los Angeles to London to lecture us at an XR protest about Climate Change. Then in February 2020 she buys a house in Old Venice. (The very area that the Ecoloons say will soon be under water.)

    6) In 1988 they said the Maldives would be under water in …. 2018. Now they say 2070 to 2080.

(I just thought you might want to keep a list of these examples of lies and hypocrisy.)

Just revealed on 7 an Afghani family is so poor they have sold their 7 year old daughter to a filthy 55 year old man. “you take good care of her” the father says, “I will” comes the reply as the poor kid is digging her heels into the dust. WTF are the equally filthy feminists? I suppose being mostly carpet lickers, pure envy! More kids being sold now under the Taliban and the UN is now asking for assistance in the millions. It will NEVER get to where is suppose to. Taliban leaders will become even wealthier enabling them to purchase more kids. It really needed to be turned into a tarmac, the entire ME.

I was a keen observer of the undermining of first Opposition Leader Abbott 2009-2013 and then when he was Prime Minister 2013-2015. I also remember when (Lord) Christopher Monckton warned by video that the leaders of Canada, New Zealand and Australia’s PM Abbott were under attack by the globalist left because the three would not cooperate with the climate hoax campaign, in fact PM Abbott was wrongly misquoted and criticised for saying IPCC climate modelling data was/is “crap”, the critics claimed he said climate change was crap, but he did not.

He was replaced by the Miserable Ghost Turnbull as PM in 2015. Earlier after the Howard Government defeat in 2007 Dr Brendan Nelson became Coalition Opposition Leader and Liberal Leader and that infuriated Turnbull who immediately commenced attacks and undermining until he replaced Nelson in 2008. Of course leftists globalist Opposition Leader Turnbull upset a majority of Coalition MPs when he sided with Prime Minister Rudd over emissions trading tax and other climate hoax items until in 2009 there was a vote and he was replaced with Abbott.

    But Turnbull and his “Black Hand Faction” LINO left Liberal MPs continued their crusade and even recruited Union Movement’s GetUp activist group to help them. The following link is a history timeline;

My point is that in The Australian today references were made to former Liberal MP and Minister Christopher Pyne who has come to PM Morrison’s defence and denied that Morrison is a liar was Turnbull claims. And Minister Marise Payne the Minister for Foreign Affairs has said similar in defence of Morrison. Both were supporters of Turnbull. Other sources have defended the PM and pointed out that after President Micron called him a liar he had no choice other than to make public email evidence proving that Micron was aware of the submarine contract being reconsidered. In fact when our PM unsuccessfully tried to phone Micron soon after the AUKUS Agreement was signed as the three leaders had agreed it should be handled, in other words that the French should not be told about the AUKUS negotiations of which nuclear submarines are one part until the arrangements were completed.

Lots more but the above will do for now.

I have suspected for a long time that PM Morrison is not a favourite leader among the globalists any more than PM Abbott was. And consider the latest, G20 Meeting failing to support Cop26 and PM Morrison making a speech about net zero emissions best being an aspirational goal subject to new technology to achieve it, no signing of agreement and with penalties the IPCC wanted. In fact rather than pledge money to the UN as requested Australia again chose to focus on our Region and foreign aid to Pacific Island nations instead. Under the climate change hoax banner but really for security purposes keeping the Pacific Region out of the hands of China.

And too many Australians, as they did when Abbott was a target with left leaning media pushing fake news stories about him and against him and the government he led fell for the spin.

The leftists want that, the more voters criticising and using fake ammunition fed to them the more likely the target will lose political ground and support.

Now to the French Ambassador speaking at the National Press Club in Canberra. Various commentators have pointed out that Ambassadors do not enter into their host nation’s politics let alone go to a public forum and denigrate the nation’s leader.

Not only that, he was allowed extra time by leftist journalist Laura Tingle who chaired the luncheon and address then question time.

There is a long list of reasons indicating that PM Morrison is under attack by foreigners and local interests such as renewables investors, wealthy people wanting an emissions trading scheme to invest in, wealthy people wanting government assistance (taxpayer’s monies) for them to develop a hydrogen industry noting that Japan and other nations have been trying to do that for decades past with not a lot of success. As the major shareholder (Indian billionaire) in the Whyalla Steelworks pointed out recently hydrogen must be produced on site to use on site because transporting it is dangerous with known technology. Of course in small quantities like Toyota Fuel Cell cars with a special holding tank lined with a fibreglass type of material are in operation, a very small number of cars so far.

The worst enemy of PM Morrison and the Coalition Government in Canberra are the major associates who are behind the redistribution of wealth agenda based on the climate hoax scare, but so are many wealthy individuals intent on gaining much more wealth for themselves, examples being Forrest and Turnbull at Cop26 and others like them, hundreds of these people who are happy to make us pay high prices for electricity and water (two examples) so that they profit.

    • Aktosplatz 05/11/2021, 9:23 am

Point taken, DT, thanks for that. I have felt some sympathy for Scott Morrison at this COP26 gathering, especially after Biden threw him under a bus. I believe he gave his message to an empty auditorium, no one wanted to listen.

It would not surprise me if he stepped down from politics, I am sure his wife, Jenny, would be relieved if that was the case.

  • Aktosplatz 05/11/2021, 11:26 am

“The Science is settled – the debate is over!” Thus shouted Al Gore and his greedy hypocritical Climate Change lobbyists, anyone who actually tried to follow long established ‘Scientific Method’ was labelled a ‘Denier’ with a reference to those who pretend the atrocities carried out by the Nazis in WW2 never happened.

Well, they are back – headed by Boris Johnson, Joe Biden’s Minder, of course the usual Gang-Green mob.

  • Cliff 05/11/2021, 12:45 pm

Last night, (I think it was Alan Jones) showed Scott Morrison making a speech to the Cop26 assembledge – to a TOTALLY empty hall.

Surely to God anyone with an ounce of self respect would have taken his notes and walked out, his speech undelivered.
Edited to add: ahhh, I see Atko beat me to it.

    • DT 05/11/2021, 2:05 pm

The Cop26 mob knew that our PM was not going to cooperate so they boycotted his speech.

      Thank you Prime Minister.

I am also pleased to have read today that Minister Angus Taylor has warned the crony capitalists not to expect the government to provide them with thirty years of funding donations to develop hydrogen fuel and other new technology ideas they might have based on taxpayer funding profits for them.

  • Albert 06/11/2021, 8:49 am

I am still chuckling at the latest disaster financed by the taxpayers of NSW.
Fairdinkum, after running for about five minutes Sydney’s new super-dooper light rail is stuffed. All of their new trams have developed dangerous cracks and will be sidelined for up to 18 months. Says a lot for today’s engineers, doesn’t it? You wouldn’t trust them with a leggo set.
I grew up in Sydney just after the war and remember well the tram system that went everywhere and lasted for donkeys years but the NSW government in their infinite wisdom decided to scrap that wonderful reliable system and tear up the tracks. They replaced the old trams with busses that were a pain in the butt on the roads, couldn’t shift anywhere near the passengers that the trams were capable of, not to mention filling the city and suburbs with road choking cars. Now they are doing the same with trains.
State governments; more useless and dysfunctional as time goes by.

    • Sir Peter 06/11/2021, 10:39 am

Sorry Albert. Only the light rail to Dulwich Hill has problems with its rolling stock. All the other routes are fine.

The Dulwich Hill sector was the first built. It runs on an unused former heavy rail corridor, and no land acquisition was needed – a major cost in extending a rail network, hence the tunnelling for our new rail routes. Apart from some remediation to the embankments and bridges, and brand new track and overhead wires the cost was very reasonable At one stage my home and my work were both adjacent to the old rail, and I had been pushing this idea for 20 years. It is heavily patronised and a huge success. It’s also a very pleasant ride.

It’s possible that some of your criticism MAY apply to other light rail routes, but I think it’s too early to say. However signs are that the Randwick sector was doing really well before the scamdemic, especially with the uni student traffic. Much of it runs on dedicated space formerly used by the old trams.
My only criticism is the CBD sector where massive cost overruns and delays were caused by underestimating the complexity of construction created by all the services beneath George St. But even here I think in the longer term removing buses, the major cause of congestion every time they stop, will be seen as a wise decision.

My only gripe is importing the rolling stock. The Dulwich Hill stock is made by Bombardier, and I think it was built in the UK. Sydney’s heavy rail stock is built in India.

If we could defang the unions and build here we might avoid defects. We’d certainly be in a better position to rectify them.

It’s always risky to criticise something you know little about.

      • Albert 06/11/2021, 12:14 pm

“It’s always risky to criticise something you know little about.” Then don’t do it. You assume, wrongly, that because I didn’t go into prattling infinite detail that I don’t know anything about it.

      • DT 06/11/2021, 1:26 pm

According to newspaper reports today the trams with cracks were built in Spain and the same model sold to several countries.

And they are now subject to warranty and compensation.

The NSW Government has been communicating with the others.

      • DT 06/11/2021, 1:30 pm

The cost blowout and delays in construction of the City of Sydney CBD lines was because the drawings supplied to identify pipelines, wiring and other hazards were inaccurate.

They were messed up by various projects in past decades.

    • DT 06/11/2021, 1:27 pm

Not all the trams or light rail rolling stock are effected, only the ones built in Spain.

  • DT 06/11/2021, 3:55 pm

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is essential for life, plant food resulting in higher yield crops and is not Carbon and “carbon pollution” as the climate hoaxers often claim.

    An extract from Earth org;

The most distant period in time for which we have estimated CO2 levels is around the Ordovician period, 500 million years ago. At the time, atmospheric CO2 concentration was at a whopping 3000 to 9000 ppm! The average temperature wasn’t much more than 10 degrees C above today’s, and those of you who have heard of the runaway hothouse Earth scenario may wonder why it didn’t happen then.

Major factors were that the Sun was cooler, and the planet’s orbital cycles were different.

    Historic CO2 levels
CO2 levels over the past 500 million years. Foster et al – Descent into the icehouse.

CO2 levels are determined by the imbalance between carbon sequestration (burial in sediments, capture by plants), and carbon emissions (decomposition and volcanic activity). Imbalances in this system created a downward trend in CO2 levels, leading to a glaciation period around 300 million years ago. This was followed by a period of intense volcanic activity, doubling CO2 concentration to about 1000 ppm. Levels then dropped until they reached today’s concentrations during the Oligocene era, 33 to 23 million years ago, when temperatures were still 4 to 6 degrees C higher than today.

However, many people think that China is a wealthy nation and forget that most of the people there are poor or very poor and live in very basic housing conditions.

Like Indonesia where most people are poor but there are more middle class consumers and high wealth citizens than the population of Australia.

Quite so and a different culture with those same inputs may have a revolution (like the French and Russians), civil war (like the English) or just a plain old insurrection (like the Americans). That they havn`t , don`t or wont is their choice and responsibility and their predicament theirs alone. Not all cultures or people are the same, neither better or worse, just different.
And the serendipitous ( I`ve a Mate who insists there is no such thing as coincidences so serendipitous it is) thing is the Lasses photo in the paper showed her jumping as you suggest and I`m darn sure I would have done the same.

    Manufacturing In Australia, again?

Of course there are still manufacturers in Australia but the less complicated the process the least likely to have remained here. That’s because Australians won’t accept lower paid repetitive jobs, for example picking fruits and vegetables for farmers. But it is also the award wages minimum amount and the other costs to employers, Australia is uncompetitive. But not necessarily so, South Korea manufactures many products and even produces steel from Australian iron ore and coal. Australia has greatly reduced steel production and range of products yet the wages in South Korea are not low and the people there have a good standard of living. So what are our handicaps?

Over twenty years ago the company I managed was in manufacturing industry and was consistently profitable well above the industry standard according to the Dunn & Bradstreet surveys of companies. The holding company, a publicly listed one, decided to sell the manufacturing business despite the strong cash flows that had enabled the holding company to diversify into a group of companies because manufacturing no longer matched the holding company’s future plans. The directors wanted management to buy the business and arranged a finance business partner and they were keen to proceed.

So I arranged a business plan supported by other senior executives and the projected future did not surprise me, within ten to twenty years at the most cheap imports would make local manufacturing unprofitable and even if millions of dollars were invested in the latest high-speed machines, adding to the debt related to the buyout, imports could not be matched in price. Above award wages were not our problem, the list of expenses included government regulations and compliance costs, payroll tax, company tax, state taxes and more, and that was before the rising electricity prices from the transition to so called renewable energy, unreliable subsidised wind and solar businesses supplying today less than 15 per cent of electricity to the grid but effectively forcing electricity price rises including power stations no longer generating non-stop and having to adjust output to accommodate intermittent renewable energy contributions. And more.

It annoys me when the politicians now talk about reviving manufacturing for the security of our nation, the NSW Labor Opposition Leader claiming that if he was Premier railway and light rail rolling stock will be manufactured here, one example of a politician in la la land hoping that voters are too poorly informed to understand or remember the history like: Whitlam Labor 1975 signing the UN Lima Protocol/Agreement to enable developing nations like China to become the manufacturing centres.

But don’t get angry with China, our Labor Government hand in hand with the UN arranged this. And then with later added impositions like UN Agenda 21, Kyoto and Paris Agreements and others Australia has become less competitive for manufacturing as the decades rolled on.

Even Spain and France can tender for products like ships and aircraft and what local manufacturer’s are left here are struggling to compete.

And now the net zero emissions push by the UN would have added to the situation by banning coal fired power stations, gas fired and exporting coal and gas and more. Australia producing 1.3% of global emissions compared to 28.0% from China.

Thankfully the PM and Government resisted the pressures at COP26 Glasgow.

But the fact remains that politicians cannot change manufacturing industry losses until they cancel UN treaties and agreements that stand in the way.

Interesting points DT. Maybe if we went for more consumption tax we could relieve some of the production taxes and provide support for regulatory burdens, if not scale back those burdens altogether.

Electric cars an option, not a mandate says the P.M. He said that about compulsory vaccinations too!

    • DT 16/11/2021, 4:40 pm

As far as I am aware the only Federal Government compulsory vaccination certificate requirement is for international travel in line with other countries.

The QR code requirement registration is State Governments and they have mandated vaccination certificate to be produced on request when we enter various public places.

Like Federal Government ordered and imports the vaccines and then distributes them to the State Governments and they oversee vaccination of people, and because vaccinations are supplied by the Federal Government payment is via Medicare and therefore registration of vaccinations is Medicare.

However there is no compulsory vaccination, the people choose or refuse.

I have both the NSW and the QLD QR code on my phone. And a Medicare Vaccination Certificate.

With complete disregard to the non stop “Climate Change/Global Warming” babble from politicians, bureaucrats and other low IQ creatures the Labor member for Ballarat, Catherine King, is now strongly behind the proposal for a high speed electric train network in Victoria.
It all sounds wonderful with fast trains darting here, there and everywhere at speeds up to possibly 250 kmh. However, we are talking about electric trains and one has to wonder where they are going to get the power to run them as reliable coal and gas fired power stations are going to be gone in the very near future. Surely they are not thinking of renewable power sources or even batteries are they?

  • Aktosplatz 10/11/2021, 9:42 am

This is a good article written by a 12 year old on the Scaremongering around Climate Change.

A refreshing contrast to Greta Thunberg and Boris Johnson (interesting remark about Johnson in the context of scaremongering)

    • Aktosplatz 10/11/2021, 10:54 am

      (Boris Johnson said):- ”

that Britain was where climate change began, because it was here that coal-powered steam engines were invented. From this moment, he said, ‘the doomsday machine began to tick’.”

This is contrast to the praise of the scientists and engineers we learned at school. I spent one year as a post graduate at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. George Heriot & James Watt are the names behind Heriot-Watt.
And James Watt modified the steam engine of 1712 in 1776.

Johnson is educated, he knows all of this, he’s an absolute bastard for throwing these scientists and engineers of yesteryear under a bus. He’s beneath contempt.

      • Botswana O'Hooligan 10/11/2021, 11:20 am

It’s a rare pleasure to visit those places where examples are on display, to marvel at Heriot, Watt, Isambard Kingdom Brunel (he had to make something of himself with a name like that, poor bastard) to pat a line of well knocked down rivets in a bridge or on a loco, John Harrison’s chronometer, to abuse out loud that arch bastard astronomer royal Nevil Maskelyne, and blokes like that ratbag Johnson forget all that for without those people we wouldn’t be as advanced as we are.

      • Aktosplatz 10/11/2021, 12:15 pm

Heriot- Watt used to be a College for Science and Engineering Courses only up until the late ’60s. It was based in Chambers St in the middle of old Edinburgh opposite the Royal Museum of Scotland, and up the road from Bobby’s of Greyfriars pub.

        Those were the days, Bots.

  • Botswana O'Hooligan 10/11/2021, 5:13 pm

I still refer to D.A. Lowes handbook for mechanical engineers but of course the logarithm tables contained therein are out of use these days. Engineering is common sense and logic, the pyramids are an example of using a fulcrum, the square, compass, and a water level, but it’s hard to understand why people of supposedly high standing in the community believe in perpetual motion, don’t recognising gravity and friction, using huge amounts of energy to create so called green energy, and lecturing those of us who do use logic and common sense.

    • Albert 11/11/2021, 8:18 am

Logic and common sense are in short supply these days, Bots but you can still find it among us old fellas.

Now This is REAL COP26 Activism:-

It is reported that a Sydney man has set an ambitious target to phase out his alcohol consumption within the next 29 years as part of an impressive plan to improve his health.

The program will see the 73 year old man continue to drink as normal for the forseeable future, before reducing consumption in 2049, when he turns 101. He has assured friends it will not affect his drinking plans in the short or medium term.

He said it was important not to rush the switch to non alcoholic beverages, “It’s not realistic to zero alcohol overnight. This requires a steady phased approach, where nothing changes for at least two decades.”.He added that he may need to make additional investments in beer consumption in he short term to make sure no ‘night out’ is worse off.

He will also be able to bring forward drinking credits from the days where he hasn’t drunk over the past forty years meaning the actual end date for alcohol consumption may be pushed out to about 2060.

To assist with this transition, this Beer drinking warrior has bought a second beer fridge which he describes as the ‘Capture and Storage’ Method.

He is thankful for the inspiration that COP26 has given him.

If this is to become common place, it should be followed up with a real Aboriginal stating that they accept the apology and like every other Australian citizen are grateful for the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Sick to death of these one way ‘statements’.

Likewise PW. Sick to death of hearing it and even ( the inventors) “both Ernie Dingo and Dr Walley agreed the Welcome to Country ceremony should not be mandatory, or it would lose all meaning”. But perhaps it is better than the time honoured genuine aboriginal welcome where the sweat under the visitors armpit is wiped on your body or/and you exchange wives. Yes, those same wives who like Barangaroo had the bejeesus beaten out of them for looking at their “husbands” whilst being spoken to, in this case Bennelong.

Whilst this might raise a smile, it’s also distressingly close to the bone in illustrating how crazy our ‘woke’ world has become.
    It snowed last night……

We received about 2 inches of snow yesterday and

    8:00 am: I made a snowman.

8:10 – A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn’t make a snow woman.

    8:15 – So, I made a snow woman.

8:17 – My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman’s voluptuous chest saying it objectified women everywhere.

8:20 – The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snowmen instead.

8:22 – The transgender man.. women…person asked why I didn’t just make one snow person with detachable parts.

8:25 – The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and are not used to decorate snow figures.

8:28 – I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white.

8:30 – I used food coloring to make one of the snow couple a different color and be more racially inclusive.

8:37 – Then accused of using a black face on the snowperson.

8:39 – The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be completely covered.

8:40 – The police arrived saying someone had been offended.

8:42 – The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role.

8:43 – The ‘council on equality’ officer arrived and threatened me with eviction.

8:45 – TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied “Snowballs” and am now a sexist.

9:00 – I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe, and sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather.

9:10 – I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services.

9:29 – Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding that I be arrested.

9:45 – The boss called and fired me because of the negative association with work that had been all over social media.

10:00 – I cry into my drink because all I wanted to do was build a

Moral: There ain’t no moral to this story. It is what this world has become because of a bunch of snowflakes.

    Investor Group On Climate Change.

The Australian, Business Report, today Monday 15 November explained how “heavyweight investors” will heap more pressure on the nation’s biggest carbon* emitters, warning too many companies are failing to deal with climate issues at a board level despite lofty targets.

    Check out the membership list;

Activist organisations of woke people like these and their lobby Group are using shareholding to influence or force change and the average investor has no effective say in it.

Of course they lobby our politicians too.

So read the list and deal with it as you see fit.

Australia has also issued an expression of interest to the UK Government to be involved in the Rolls Royce nuclear modular power stations ordered by the UK already.

Maybe part of the “aspirational goal” to achieve net zero emissions by 2050?

Of course contrary to the silly comments I have read The Australian Government refused to sign an agreement on net zero emissions and refused to change the Paris emissions target for 2030 despite demands from the COP26 bullies.

The more I hear about the draconian legislation now likely to get passed in the Victoria Parliament this week, resulting in the Premier having new powers to call lockdowns as he decides are needed, huge fines and gaol terms for “offenders”, the Health Minister holding similar powers that are draconian, even the Ombudsman Victoria is criticising the legislation as are a very large number of lawyers, and other voters, I am reminded of an article written by journalist Peter Walsh published in The Bulletin Magazine in 2006.

Walsh wrote about the Union Movement succeeding with what he described as a “corporate-style takeover of the ALP”. Of course Labor has always been the party representing unionism but apart from donations and membership of the ALP the unions had influence but not complete control.

The Union Labor Inc as Walsh described the after takeover ALP was forced to accept union trained executives to become MPs in safe Labor seats, sitting MPs were pushed aside. Some years later via the AWU when Bill Shorten was a senior executive there the US activist organisation renamed GetUp in Australia was established with union funding, Shorten was appointed to the GetUp Board. Ever since GetUp has been a campaigner for Labor and Greens, the Greens are also recipients of union donations and support.

The primary objective of the Union Movement was/is to control all of the Governments in Australia. Now consider the antics of COVID-19 2020/21 pandemic, effectively thumbing their noses at the National Leaders Cabinet and despite agreeing to decisions the Labor States have mostly ignored the agreements. They even allowed NSW under Liberal-National Government do the heavy lifting looking after hotel quarantine arrivals from overseas and now refusing to pay the bills the Labor States agreed they would pay.

The Labor States have used the pandemic to undermine the Federal Government and PM and obviously with the 2022 Federal Election in mind. Control Australian Governments!!! In NSW the Labor Opposition is campaigning already and doing their best to deceive voters. One example, that new ferries cannot pass under bridges sailing from Circular Quay up the Parramatta River to Parramatta terminus. That’s not true, the new ferries are the same height as the old ferries they replaced. The difference is that the new ones have balustrade and stairs leading to an observation deck on the roof of the cabin that the old ones did not have and therefore cannot pass under ONE bridge up the River especially at high tide with passengers standing up, so passengers must be called below for safety reasons.

I recently watched a documentary on river cruising in Europe and the long ships the cruise firms use, and I noted that they cannot pass under some bridges with passengers on the observation deck.

Back to Union Labor Inc, the stopturnbull website contains information about his agenda to wreck the LNP and form an alliance of parties to become the dominant forever more governing alliance. The same objective that Union Labor Inc has according to Max Walsh. So now consider globalism leftist politics, a Labor Attorney General Evatt created the plan for the UN to sign agreements and treaties with member nations to get around constitutional laws. Whitlam Labor signed the UN Lima Protocol that agreed to handing over manufacturing industry to developing nations, and with no union objections. That was in 1975.

And consider the NSW Labor scam organised by now gaoled former Minister Obeid to recruit and support candidates masquerading as Independent who would support NSW Labor in Parliament. Two moved to Federal Parliament and helped the Gillard Labor Government to form an alliance minority Government in 2010.

At the 2019 Federal Election candidates masquerading as Independent were set up to oppose several key LNP MPs who were LINO-NINO left political enemies, like Tony Abbott and Barnaby Joyce. But only Abbott was beaten at the ballot box. The Independents were backed by renewables business investors, merchant bankers and even had Union’s GetUp as campaign managers and mud slingers. And they plan to repeat this at the 2022 Federal Election.

All point towards controlling Federal and State Governments with an alliance of like minded fellow travellers, climate hoax based propaganda, crony capitalism wealth creation schemes, political power seeking and more.

Victoria Labor has revealed a lot with their draconian legislation preparing for people control. How long before Queensland and Western Australia follow? Maybe it depends on the 2022 Federal Election result?

Also consider the Turnbull Republican Movement, primary objective to change the Constitution and remove the parts that get in their way.

    • DT 16/11/2021, 10:57 pm

I asked above how long before Queensland and Western Australia follow – Victoria.

On Sky tonight news that the NSW Cabinet proposed similar pandemic legislation initiated by the Minister for Health, happily many outside Cabinet rejected it and the Premier announced that it would not proceed.

Another example of the LINO left influencers, but also that the real Liberals and Nationals have found their voices.
