Defence Minister Linda Reynolds should be sacked today!

21.11.20.  The absolutely disgraceful Defence Minister Linda Reynolds has spoken publicly for the first time since the Chief of the Defence Force yesterday released the redacted findings of a four-year investigation into alleged war crimes by SAS soldiers. “I got the report two weeks ago and it made me physically ill and it was a very distressing read. We have to accept it for what it is. This is not ‘fog of war’; these are allegations of absolute, clear cut, murder, and war crimes,” Ms Reynolds said. Call it misogyny, who cares, but silly person as defence minister should go home and knit winter socks for the real soldiers deployed in cold regions. That is the best contribution she can offer the ADF. Just imagine how “sick” she would feel in the line of fire? Give us a break lady—go home! Australia needs a defence minister that will support our troops—not sell them short! Renolds has a CSC Conspicuous Service Cross for the “application of special skills in non-warlike situations!” Says it all. What’s next from our woke leaders—magic wands in lieu of rifles? Grenades packed with Woofle-Poofle sparklers?

All these condemnatory words, emanating from the mouths (not brains) of people we put in charge of our safety will incite retaliatory actions, at home, by rabid Islamic adherents! ADF personnel and families beware!

Ms Reynolds is a singularly unimpressive politician. However, compared with her predecessor as Defence Minister, with all her shortcomings, she positively shines.

Angus Campbell, Brereton and Reynolds. None, ever in the literal firing line risking their lives like the SAS Warriors who have been judged guilty without a trial, and often on the words of Afghan villagers. What a pile on.

Google ‘General Angus Campbell’, and read his SAS history, before making unfounded and denigrating, allegations.

if the men committed murder, try them, One may wonder the Australian lives lost to the blue on blue. Those Australian men lost as they trained the enemy ,trust was betrayed time and time again.

Reynolds should hang her head in shame for she, just like the media mob, Brereton, Campbell, The chief of the ADF, the former chief of the ADF Chris Barry, the Australian War Memorial and a conga line of useless politicians, has found those accused guilty without the need for a trial.
These termites have flushed the SAS down the toilet on the pre-judgement of those who don’t seem to have the intellectual capacity to understand what they have done.
If those accused are found guilty after being given a proper trial than punish them accordingly but to hang them publicly without trial is the real national disgrace.

Yes, Chris BARRIE was CDF, way back in 4 July 1998, until 3 July 2002.
Seeing that our commitment to Afghanistan didn’t start until 22 October 2001, I doubt if much happened under his watch.

And don’t forget the military Morrison(no combat medal) yet likes wearing stilletos.

    • Geoff 21/11/2020, 10:53 am

Morrison was awarded the Australian Active Service Medal, 1975 – present, and the INTERFET Medal, both for operational service.
BTW, I do not particularly like the bloke, for what he did to senior soldiers in the ‘Jedi Knights’ affair. However, credit must be given where credit is due. Supposition is as dangerous as lack of knowledge.

        Geoff,
I was requested to crew an LSM Sydney to Vung Tau ..sit on my arse for 30 days to get an Active Service medal which qualified me for a DVA pension. I choose not to do it as it was not worthy.
        Morrison is not worthy either.

Why were we even training Afghan civilians and calling them soldiers. Having an army is foreign to their culture. They are tribal have no allegiance to anyone outside that tribe. They have no concept of how a consensual democracy works, never will, won’t happen. You do perceived wrong in the tribe your whole family pays the price. You are literally disposed of by death. To think that by sending foreign troops in including us was ridiculous. All that did was focus the population to bunker down and focus on a common enemy which was all the foreigners including us. To the point you didn’t know who was who. They will tell you what you want to hear, they will even tell you who is your enemy but in reality that person or group is actually their enemy. You are doing their job for them.
I get the concept because I grew up in the third world. It is the survival of the fittest by whatever means. Most of the payback system will be something that a person’s family did for eg. four generations before. The population used us to settle a lot of scores.

  • crankykoala 21/11/2020, 10:11 am

So what will our PM do? Nothing “she is doing a good job”. Perhaps if someone like Andrew Hastie or Jim Molan were to be promoted to this position then things maybe would be different.

  • Bazza 21/11/2020, 12:35 pm

    Well said Cranky.

  • Sir Peter 21/11/2020, 2:17 pm

This is what happens when you promote people to positions of power because of their plumbing, not their experience or ability.
Get ALL women out of the defence force and the ministry NOW

    • Ivan Ackeroff 23/11/2020, 1:33 pm

“Get ALL incompetent women out of the defence force and the ministry NOW”…There, I fixed it for you, Pete.

  • Steve 21/11/2020, 4:23 pm

This will be the end of our Defence Force. Who the hell would want to join now knowing nobody has their backs. This government both left and right are a disgrace. They’ll be the first to scream when we are attacked and we have no defence. Stick those mongrels on the front line.

I suspect Minister Reynolds’ comments serve to highlight the suitability of Mr Jim Molan as a future (near) Defence Minister.

    • seadogger 21/11/2020, 8:57 pm

      Wal,
Jim Molan has my greatest respect but unfortunately his position as Senator expires at the next election as it was only temporary to fill the vacancy when Arthur Sinodidus was appointed Ambassador to the USA.
