16.09.20. The coronavirus is costing Australia more than lives and hundreds and thousands of jobs, something else is being lost, particularly in Victoria, which is the trust in government and in the police says Sky News host Andrew Bolt. He said it is Victoria “which sets the standard for brutality”. Mr Bolt said he has seen scenes in Victoria in the past week which “I never thought I’d see here”. “Things are really changing, there’s such a nasty change to the culture coming that I think we’ll have to live with this for a long time to come”. It comes as footage surfaced of Victorian Police threatening to arrest two elderly women on a park bench, and in another instance, police arresting a pregnant woman in her home during a police raid for her alleged involvement in organising an anti-lockdown rally. Mr Bolt also said there were “shameful scenes that suggest a police state in Victoria”. “Police used en masse to enforce a cruel lockdown which many citizens now think is so harsh and unjustified, so irrational that they will risk a $1600 fine to protest against it”. Mr Bolt said there were “riot police among the fruit and veg” at a recent anti-lockdown rally at the Queen Victoria Market.
