A defence minister with a poor memory over rape!

24.02.21. What did Australia do to the “Gods” to be cursed with such a plethora of lousy politicians. Linda Reynolds in this case—a one time ‘Brigadier’ in the ADF. One might have thought that being a woman the matter of rape, in her bloody office, would be a meticulously recorded incident? Reynolds, if anybody, would know the seriousness of such an incident and the chain of command for reporting. A few days one way or another—who cares! Imagine being sent into battle under her orders? Hell NO! Thank heavens she is not your accountant doing your tax return! Mediocrity is the new excellence with today’s politics. May God save Australia because the defence minister can’t!
Defence Minister Linda Reynolds has issued a correction on a specific detail of the case concerning former Liberal staffer and alleged rape victim Brittany Higgins. The bungled handling of the alleged rape of former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins has forced Defence Minister Linda Reynolds into an embarrassing backtrack to correct her version of events.

Brittany Higgins: Defence Minister corrects record on timing of police meeting

Ms Reynolds had told the Senate she facilitated a meeting with Ms Higgins and the Australian Federal Police on April 1, several days after the former staffer claims she was raped on a couch in the minister’s office.
In a letter to the President of the Senate Scott Ryan, Ms Reynolds corrected the record saying she only met with the AFP on April 4 without Ms Higgins.
“The fact they escalated it to meeting with the assistant AFP commissioner, that’s news to me,’’ Ms Higgins said.
Ms Higgins is expected to meet with the AFP today to make a formal complaint against the man she alleges raped her in Parliament House in March 2019.
The man was terminated from his Liberal staffer role on 26 March 2019, only days after the alleged assault took place and later became employed in the private sector.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison yesterday confirmed the alleged perpetrator’s employment ended due to the security breach triggered when he and Ms Higgins entered Ms Reynolds’ office after hours.
“It was because of a security breach,” he said.
“It related to the entry into those premises.”
Mr Morrison said he expected findings of an independent inquiry to examine how complaints and staff issues are handled would be finalised “well in advance” of the next federal election.

We know now why some MP,s were urging MalMo to drop Renyolds from cabinet. They all knew about this event and there is probably more that we do not know yet.
Give her the flick MalMo or an albatross you will wear.

She really has to go, she’s an incompetent fool and it shows.

This is what happens when you employ people because of their plumbing rather than their ability. She has one and is one.

I don’t understand all the fuss. In the passage above the perpetrator of the alleged rape was “terminated”. Surely they aren’t pursuing a dead man.

Oh! I see, it was his employment that was terminated – silly me.

The Albo-Tross x 2! #1 is Labor-iosly true #2 and by far the won with the bigger wingspan, also connected to Reynolds is the SAS debacle

Linda Reynolds, Defence Minister turning on the gender tap in Parliament and asking to take the question on notice, is a most unedifying sight. Imagine her being told Darwin is being invaded and she says I’ll take that on notice.
Obvious choice for defence Minister, either Andrew Hastie or Jim Molan, both quality individuals, but they don’t get a look in because they’re blokes.

    • seadogger 24/02/2021, 8:01 am

The reason they get a look in Hb is they know too much and would show up the boffins Defence House.

  • Penguinite 24/02/2021, 8:03 am

Is Reynolds from Victoria? Seems to have caught the “I don’t recall” bug. Reynolds is also MIA over the SAS debacle. “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General”. Must have been in the ADF Entertainment Corp?

She still is Pen.. a bloody great big JOKE

This whole affair “ thus far follows the exact same line as Mr Justice Cavanaugh’s Supteme Court nomination. A grand political stitch up! Labor don’t have a policy with any substance & they’re hamstrung with a dud leader. The Dud can’t be removed because of ALP being hamstrung by a former dud ALP Prime Minister making it impossible to get rid of duds. Ironic isn’t it. So, without any hope of election victory they revert to type & see if they can force political sackings, resignations or retirement.
We’ve seen it all before both here in Oz & recently in USA . Funny how it’s always the loonies of the left that dream up the conspiracies based on some other loony left parties elsewhere on the planet!
So far in the rape case we have one accuser, who was quickly joined by another but again strangely no names. Can’t wait for the dates of the offence to be made known & compared with the accused’s appointment book. How many more victims will magically appear?
Bet KK & the most favoured to replace Albo are involved!

  • Disgruntled 24/02/2021, 8:48 am

She really does need to be replaced ASAP. Her portfolio is a mess and the longer she stays the worse the Govt. looks; her handling of the ADF issues is very disturbing as well!

While we wait to learn what really went on contrary to the gossip, hearsay and innuendo heard to date Mr Occam might suggest as a starting place that Parliament House ought to get its alcohol in the workplace policy under control. Other employer organisations and managers of workplaces have been battling this problem and mostly effectively so for many years as a mandated obligation. The ADF serves as a good example. Falling down drunk employees wandering around in the small hours involved in non employment related activity evidently after they were permitted access to the premises in that condition by definition is non compliant and unnacceptable.

If Scott Morrison thinks the stench of Linda Reynolds is going away, the misery she has caused Brittany Higgins and other women, is disgusting, not to mention what she has done to our SAS soldiers, our finest, bullied, mentally tortured to the state of mental breakdowns, their families shattered , without proof or recourse, and Reynolds is to incompetent and lazy to return dozens of texts to a distraught wife watching her husband ans loyal soldier of 22 years disintegrate.
Reynolds had the hide to cry in Parliament the other day, what was she crying about and for whom?????????? Herself no doubt!!!!

    • Lorraine 24/02/2021, 8:17 pm

Linda Reynolds could not take time to speak or have some kind of reach out to the wife of this poor soldier,,,,,listening to her on Alan Jones show was heart wrenching,,,,,,who could ignore her,,,,I cried for her and I may not been able to change stuff for her,,,,but I sure would at least spoke to her, that lady needed that help,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, even if just the fact she existed The Minister should have acknowledge her………….cry in the chamber for whom,,,,now in hospital ,has she had a breakdown over her pure meanness.

  • Fedup 24/02/2021, 10:08 am

She was once a brigadier? Bwaaaahhhaaaaa.

    • seadogger 24/02/2021, 11:02 am

      Should be in the Brig.
      Instead is now in hospital.

      • Disgruntled 24/02/2021, 11:20 am

Yair seadogger; what a cowardly way to avoid the hard questions that are coming; so very convenient to buy time for the Govt that they do not have; Bloody wake up Scomo!!!

      • seadogger 24/02/2021, 12:52 pm

That will be the end of her…good riddance.

  • Cliff 24/02/2021, 10:19 pm

Scottie needs to manufacture a distraction to get the public looking elsewhere, anywhere but at the joint disaster of the SAS witch hunt and Ms Higgins.

Here’s a suggestion Scottie: announce that we’re ditching the French submarine and paying the huge renege penalty the French were clever enough to insist upon.

That’ll pull the attention of the Canberra press gallery away from Ms Higgins.
