Saman Gunan

How many accountants have been killed in the line of duty, how many farmers, how many dry-cleaners? This does not disparage workers in those professions or those trades, but for some reason the story of Saman Gunan brought home how many Australian police, or fireys, had been killed in the line of duty. Every day we should be grateful that there walks amongst us men and women who put the lives of others first. And you would not know to look at them.

There have been a number of tributes, some very professional, but this one comes from a man who just had to say what he felt.

“And you would not know to look at them.”
You wouldn’t know it by the way our Government looks after these people when they are left with lifelong debilitating conditions. It appals me to see ads on the tele asking the public to donate to the welfare of seriously injured personnel (Soldier On).

Phil: I agree with you as I am equally appalled at how our service men and women are treated by an uncaring government and Dept of Veteran Affairs. The situation is nothing less than utterly disgraceful. However, the rot does not stop there with so many Paramedics, Firies and Police suffering severe trauma from work related incidents, without any meaningful post event treatment or consideration, it seems to me, all of the above-mentioned personnel are nothing more than ‘cannon fodder’ in the eyes of government.

It saddens me to think how the brave in our world risk their lives for the benefit of others only to be abandoned by our various governments in their time of need.

Albert, that’s what governments do. It’s in their DNA (Do Nothing for Australia). They play, we pay…dearly. It’s just that they’ve become more professional at deceit and lying to the masses. We don’t need or want three-faced morons directing our lives and stealing our hard-earned. How about reconvening a Salem trial or five to get rid of these devils in Prada/Gucci.

A certain well knowledged reader has a 303 itching to fire a few bullets at a particular group of quislings. With a huge cheering galley to back his every move……….

there are calls for the team coach to be given Australian citizenship. He qualifies superbly, as he could lead countless politicians up along watery caves.

It’s Thai citizenship, not Australian that people are asking for him to get.
