Nikki Haley resigns.

Nikki Haley resignation letter.

Speculations abound, but the earliest reactions are sadness that this fearless grade A woman is going back to the private sector when she was so needed.
When has the US had such a UN Ambassador?

Resignation letter.

Dear Mr. President:
It has been an immense honor to serve our country in your Administration. I cannot thank you enough for giving me this opportunity.

You will recall that when you offered me the position of United States Ambassador to the United Nations in November 2016, I accepted the offer based on some conditions. Those conditions included serving in your Cabinet and on the National Security Council and being free to speak my mind on the issues of the day. You made those commitments and you have absolutely kept them all. For that too, I will always be grateful.

We achieved great successes at the UN. We passed the toughest sanctions against any country in a generation, pressuring North Korea toward denuclearization. We passed an arms embargo on South Sudan that will help reduce violence and hopefully bring peace to that troubled country.

We stood up for our ally Israel and began to roll back the UN’s relentless bias against her. We reformed UN operations and saved over $1.3 billion. We spoke out resolutely against dictatorships in Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, and yes, Russia. Through it all, we stood strong for American values and interests, always placing America first. I am proud of our record.

As a strong supporter of term limits, I have long believed that rotation in office benefits the public. Between the UN Ambassadorship and serving in the South Carolina Governorship and General Assembly, I have been in public office for fourteen straight years. As a businessman, I expect you will appreciate my sense that returning from government to the private sector is not a step down but a step up.

Accordingly, I am resigning my position. To give you time to select a replacement, and to give the Senate time to consider your selection, I am prepared to continue to serve until January 2019.

At that point, I will once again become a private citizen. I expect to continue to speak out from time to time on important public policy matters, but I will surely not be a candidate for any office in 2020. As a private citizen, I look forward to supporting your re-election as President, and supporting the policies that will continue to move our great country toward even greater heights.

With best wishes and deep gratitude,

Nikki Haley

what a pity she has done the best job ever . She has stood her Ground and won for her America. This has also given heart to others to put the UN on notice.

Nikki Haley attained her position based upon merit, not some airy fairy ‘women’s quota’ system. And what amazing merit she displayed by her actions at the UN. A job very well done indeed.

A capable person who is not a quota number.

That cartoon is brilliant. I hope that the next incumbent will follow in her footsteps and be a strong voice for national sovereignty. She certainly raised the bar with her no bullshit approach to dealing with the rusted on career leftists / hypocrites who dominate the UN.

Regrettably our piss weak government didn’t stand beside Nikki and Trump when she [and Trump] stood firmly against the UN globalists.

Great woman, I hope she stands for President in 2024.

Haley’s ‘retirement’ is the first step to setting herself up as a more voter- agreeable Trump- lite candidate without the baggage that surrounds the current President. She will follow Hillary’s lead by attending strategic speaking fixtures and penning soundly prepared op-eds in major newspapers. Just enough exposure so that she remains firmly in the mind’s eye of the general public….and with an increasingly favourable image. In effect, Haley is appealing to the GOP and independent voters that she is demonstrably smart, very experienced in world affairs and totally different in style and overall presentation……unlike an aggressive and unpredictable Trump. Her next step is to garner enough support within the GOP to become Vice-President in place of a near-forgotten Mike Pence. In 2023-2024 she will go all out to stifle Donald Trump Jnr’s anticipated run for the top job. This current resignation is all part of her self-serving plan of double rung-jumping the political ladder while always appearing to fully support The Donald who she privately distrusts and dislikes. I believe she will succeed in her quest. The country could do far worse than appointing her as POTUS.
