Come on Joe – We have come to expect better pearls of mirth from you. We look forward as always to your “free thinking” quips.

There won’t be a Liberal candidate in the federal Perth by-election, and Labor are wondering wtf just happened.

During the latest round of nonsense concerning Julie Bishop Turnbull claims that every time she struts around the world stage Australians are very proud.

He’s been talking to too many entomologists.

I’m assuming she didn’t back this up with names!

      • Joe Blogs 17/05/2018, 12:55 pm

        dweeze
The names I’ve heard are Bertie Beetle, Jiminy Cricket, Gerald the Grasshopper, and Louie the Fly.

Personally, I think it’s a load of hum bug.

No comments here thus far of the Wedding of Harry and Meghan. Probably a good thing as it really is a ‘non event’IMO

However I would like to remind all and sundry that this nonsense started with the Markle family right at the public announcement of their engagement. It was Harry who as much as said Meghan has had no family but ‘she will have one now.’

Big mistake to go public on something like that, to infer Meghan has had no family to speak of until now (families being what they are.)

  • Clarion Call 18/05/2018, 1:34 pm

This whole Meghan & Harry nonsense has been planned and orchestrated by the gossip media. She was selected after a massive celebrity cull involving hundreds of prospects. Likewise with Harry. He easily won out over his Harry rivals. Contracts were signed with both getting 2% of profits from TV and magazines sales. Re-runs should increase their take. Season two might even prove to be a bigger winner. As for the support cast, the Markle ‘family’ is made up of low-grade actors who were paid a small amount to appear and spruik their fake news. Believe it or not….that’s how I see it.(sarc)

Don’t know anything about the bride-to-be, etc; but have a lot of time for Harry. He had an inauspicious start to life, including being the “spare” to the “heir”, but his own efforts or the military’s seem to have straightened him out.

Apart from appearing to be a bit of a Lefty, he’s a genuine veteran (when he didn’t have to be) and seems a good bloke. His community work seems more a calling than a duty.

    He’ll do me.

    • Gregoryno6 18/05/2018, 8:44 pm

He’s not a bad one, as royals go.

    • Aktosplatz 19/05/2018, 8:15 am

I agree, JB and Greg, he is OK, but the worrying trend that is already there, is the Globalist Virtue Signalling trait picked up by his association with the Obamas, and the influence of Ms Markle, who describes herself as being dedicated to ‘gender equality’ (but not, presumably in the Middle Eastern Countries)

Hope I’m wrong, but we’ll see.

  • Clarion Call 19/05/2018, 10:10 pm

Sparkle Miss Markle looks the pushy type who could easily tread on the Royal toes until such time as she learns and accepts her lower position on the totem pole. I’m not sure she’ll ‘fit in’ with the stiff protocol. The bright lights of Hollyweird might be too much of a learned attraction.

    • OPA 20/05/2018, 3:05 pm

Won’t be long before the envy-ridden media start tearing strips of these two young people to keep the interest of the suckers alive. That way they can make some more money out of them, even if it means they have to invent some fake news, the sleazier the better! They could even use some ‘Trump’ material and just change the name on the worst ones to Harry. Ghee, I could be a journalist myself!

      • Joe Blogs 20/05/2018, 3:35 pm

If you were, butter wouldn’t melt in your mouth, Opa.

    Two reasons for glee.

    1. Trump has demanded that the DOJ investigate the campaign spying allegations (aka Obamagate).

    Hi Guys.
Here’s a big project if the MM feels able to achieving it. Keep a list of promises made by public figures throughout their election campaigns. Then put the list to a group of objective experts on tv to give monthly updates to keep the parties on the ball but mainly in a bid to expose them to their success and to their follow commitments. This should be ongoing with costs of the project being updated on line.
I would like to see this database to a one stop shop for all electors when they are tying to make up their mind who to choose.
Exit 75% of the AEC right there.

The key to such a task would be ongoing credibility

Nearing an election a health report should be compiled by objective experts (if you can find one) Voters can go to one web site to review the failures of the past and the promises for the future.
